Saw a story tonight about the Russians suspected of cutting underwater cables off the Irish coast - ahead of Russian war games there. Some 100,000 troops at the Ukraine border. NATO military forces on standby, with military equipment being pumped into the Ukraine.

Can somebody post the in's an out's of this?  My only recollection is that when the USSR dissolved like 30 years ago. The Ukraine came to be and now that border is being tested again  by a saber rattling Putin.  

If so, seems like a NATO response is required.  Not USA only but a NATO response, more European if no one else. 

What I don't want to see is more U.S personnel on the Ukraine / Russia border than the USA / Mexico border.  That would be weird and wrong and stupid.

I've read Russia's thirst for land is similar to Hitler's Germany. Hitler wanted all the land back that previously belonged to Germany prior to WW1. Russia (and specifically Putin) wants all their Soviet states back. It's a matter of pride.

The US wants Ukraine in NATO so we can have a military presence on the Russian border. Putin doesn’t want the west to have a military presence on his border. NATO doesn’t even want the Ukraine in NATO. They would be a burden to the NATO countries, and they are corrupt.  But our neocons want it so here we are.

It's a nothinghurger.  Russia has no interest in starting ww3.  Remember in recent years, lunatics were CERTAIN ww3 was going to be started by north korea.  Or that trump would start ww3 by having a bad day.  The MSM just want to shift the focus off of biden.

Putin has delivered many speeches over the years warning against the woke liberal left and comparing them to hitler.  The woke have a thirst for global power and domination and wish to be dictators.  But he also says western civilization must make its own choice on wether it wants to succumb to these modern nazis or fight back.
