I have a daughter who is 27 now and when we have been with others and discussed this topic, she agrees that men (trannies) shouldn't be allowed to compete in girls sports. She said it in front of family and friends. And everyone agreed and her life didn't get ruined. I've personally have said it to coworkers and guess what? My life didn't change a bit. Jerry would raise his kids to not express their views I guess. Not sure. Then @Sean Mooney comes out and says it's a VERY COMPLEX issue. No, it isn't. Not for normals. It's easy peasy. Men shouldn't be allowed to compete in women's sports. If there is anything complex about it, it's that the trannies need psychological help. But that has nothing to do with sports. Since you are somewhere far down the special needs spectrum, I'll comment for others who may understand. There is a difference between a teenage girl swimmer publicly protesting and a 27 yr old woman mentioning to family and friends that she disagrees with it. There is also a difference between a teenage girl swimmer publicly protesting and the Director of Concerned Women publicly protesting. In fact, some might take the fact that many parents are thanking them as evidence that the parents disagree with the situation but feel helpless to do anything themselves. A few weeks after he did, I'd made comments on what he'd said in a different thread, but it rubbed him the wrong way. I don't want to go there again until and unless he brings them up himself. I do think that the cultural issue is the battle that needs to be fought. The LGBTQ agenda, together with various 1619 Project/ soft on crime/ anti-police / black grievance/ enflamed racism bullsh*t that you mentioned in another thread. and I commented on a few minutes ago. are where its at. They pump these two topics into us not just in schools but also beat us over the head with them in the media, Hollywood, and utilize Big Tech censorship and cancel culture going after our kids and our jobs. The 'correct' position to take in polite, educated society is to fully embrace far leftoid cancerous talking points. We're on the defense. To me, in so far as political discourse goes, this is the hill I'll die on. This is the unhealable rift in America and I'm cutting ties. It seems to me that parents being aware of and preventing leftoids from indoctrinating their kids into the woke cult is job one for any parent. They aren't getting anywhere near my kids. To me, making decent Americans un-cancelable, building up a parallel educational structure, tech system, media system, and entertainment, together with strong state government to insulate what's left us from suffering this rot is where all the effort should go. Hopefully SCOTUS greases the skids to make it possible. You and I might have different approaches to parenting. When I was a kid I was raised Catholic; that was the way and there was no discussion. In HS however I started having doubts about the whole religion thing. I couldn't talk to my parents about it so I talked to my favorite teacher. He said that there is nothing wrong with questioning, that questioning leads to introspection and investigation, that such questioning may lead me down several paths over my life, that perhaps in the end I will find myself back with religion or spirituality, or perhaps not, but whatever the case my beliefs will be all the stronger for the journey. I've never forgotten that and I try to incorporate that approach into my life and my parenting. It is why I support the traditional liberal approach to education: the purpose is to learn HOW to think, not WHAT to think (except in STEM, those bridges need to not fall down). Teaching a person what to think is the Chinese way. It might work out, it might not. I'm confident enough in my intelligence to know that I don't know all of the answers in life, and that I won't always be there to provide my version of the "right" answer. Throw the special needs in there. It doesn't work. You do realize that is offensive to actual special needs people. And some of the college kids did walk out on the whole thing and were openly disputing this. You are purposefully thinking they should not speak out against this because you are afraid that you are sending the wrong message. Which you are. I have spoken out against popular "messaging when I was in college and found that although some didn't like it, other's agreed. Dudes shouldn't be in women's sports. And if someone has kids in college, parents shouldn't be encouraging their kids to stay tight lipped on it if they believe that way and find themselves in a discussion about it. Their lives will not be ruined by doing so.

Utilit99 4,099 Posted March 18, 2022 Yeah, if a college girl spoke out against males competing against females her life would be completely ruined. Twitter explodes over trans swimmer Lia Thomas winning national title: 'A slap in the face to women and girls' Those critical of Thomas' participation took to Twitter following the swimmer's controversial win, with some arguing it set a bad precedent that would ensure the "murder of women's sports", and others congratulating Weyant, arguing she was the real winner. fandandy 3,313 Posted March 18, 2022 I love it. Women are generally stoopid and tend to be more liberal than men. I think it is fantastic that their sports are being rooned. Also, for the first time in my entire life, I may want to watch collegiate women's swimming. I guess this is how women will finally get a pay raise in sports. Let men compete. I can't wait until they make it into the WNBA. I'll buy a t-shirt.

RLLD 4,275 Posted March 20, 2022 Feminists Against Lia Thomas in NCAA Finals Feel 'Politically Homeless' Quote "With the whole Biden election, I began to feel more and more disenfranchised from Democrats as a party, and I began to feel more and more that they did not represent my beliefs or my views," Amy Sousa, one of the protesters, told the news station. Another protester, who was not identified by name, added: "I always voted as a liberal, from 18 to 39. I registered Republican in 2020 after two politicians told me they did not want my vote because of my stance on the rights for women and girls." A few people protesting does not amount to the representation of feminism of course. But this is hopeful. We finally see the feminists standing up for the rights of women. Now of course, the immediate reaction will be the standard volleys of "homophobic" and "transphobic" and all that. We know the routine. I am really just fascinated to see how this unfolds. I get a sense that women are going to be really challenged to protect their rights on this one.

Agree completely. Hence my noting of this very element in my post. Moreover, there are factions and groupings within the notional idea of "feminism" that likely mirror any other group; from the reasoned to the borderline insane. That some of them are standing up to what is clearly wrong, is hopeful. And perhaps those who are silently concerned will stand up, perhaps the actions of these select few help them overcome the fear of societies cancellation culture. We can hope. Where would the high school and college female athletes get the motivation to work their tails off just to never win if all this continues to be allowed?
