Walked inside a grocery store yesterday

Recommended Posts

Right inside the door, some lady in a lab coat offers a flu shot. Right next to the produce section no less. No thanks.

Did you get spit on and called a baby killer?

Never killed a baby. If I do, I'll let you know if I get attacked.

What's your story pedo boy?

I went to the beer distributor and some lady in the front offered me a sample of hard seltzer.

I said “no thanks.” :bandana:

I have gotten my flu shot every year for a long long time. I encourage hubs and kids to get them too.

I used to, took a few years off during covid.  Not sure if I'll get one this year since I'm not in the office anymore.

I might not have gotten one during Covid, now that I think of it..Zirra and I don't go into the office anymore either. Hmmm...that's a good point. Kids are still working outside the home and in school.

Good to think about not getting it though, might not be as needed as it once was.

I got one last year after they said it was gonna be bad, and I knew I was gonna be on a plane 4 times in Nov.  This year? I'll probably still get it, even though I have no travel coming up that I know of.

Me too. The 30-60% chance of flu reduction is worth it, especially since it's free. The flu sucks, a week of being sick, no  thanks.

I never used to get them up until recently when I switched healthcare providers. They will bug you each and every visit until you relent. So I finally succumbed to peer pressure.

That is only when the shot is well matched with the strain that year.  There are years it is below 20%. The flu shot is a cash cow for the pharmaceutical industry.

recent studies show that flu vaccination reduces the risk of flu illness by between 40% and 60% among the overall population during seasons when most circulating flu viruses are well-matched to those used to make flu vaccines.

I always get my flu shot.  It's free and easy to get so I don't see a reason for me not to.

Nothing is free!

You’re right, my business covers the cost for all of our employees.

How the heck do you all get so sick all the time?  Take vitamins and exercise.  Its rare that I get sick for more than 2 days at a time.

Yep. It's easy actually.

The people catching the flu once a year for a week.

Also the FBG thread on covid is so interesting to watch the same 10 dudes keep getting boosters and then getting covid multiple times.

I get sick twice a year like clockwork, no matter if I get a shot or not.

Early November and mid-march.  So I don't bother with the shots any more.

Who here said they are catching the flu once a year?  Just because people get a flu shot doesn't mean they are sick all the time.  That's some strange logic.
