Do you save or delete your text messages?

Recommended Posts

If you save them, doesn’t it take up a lot of space? Do you really look back to read old texts?

if you delete them, why? Do you ever regret deleting them?

Save the group texts that include who owes what for a fantasy league.  And investment advice.

Same.   I will go through moments where I decide to mass delete.  But generally I just keep them

I never delete anything. Why go through the time to do that?

I delete everything so that it can't be used against me in court

I delete because it cause it takes up space, yeah, that's the ticket.

Same.  Not only things (restaurant name) but dates (when did we go there?).  I search my texts all the time for stuff.

If you are using a iphone and trying to hide texts from your girlfriend by deleting them... just know... they aren't deleted. They go into a deleted file for 60 days. You have to click edit at the top, then show recently deleted and delete them again from the deleted file.   It it it happened to a friend.

I actually just did this.  My son and I are taking golf lessons, and we meet for lunch beforehand.  I just looked back to see how early we met last time, and as a bonus, it reminded me that I brought takeout to his place last time and it worked well (he lives close to the course).

If the exchange doesn't matter, as in, a simple text to someone or a group that was a one-off, I delete it.  Otherwise, I keep them.

Clutter bothers me, so I delete almost all of them.  Except for the ones from yer mom.

I keep most of them. You never know when people might die and you might want to reminisce about how meaningless your relationship was with them.

Then I delete them.

It was a joke. That's why I said "...you might want to reminisce about how meaningless your relationship was..."

I pretty much keep everything but spam texts. I'll occasionally delete conversations but not very often.

Ironically, my Mom died a couple of months after this thread, so good advice. 👍🏽

Good point.  It would be fun if Mike gave her mod powers in this forum.

Lol, you thought I “had” left. When something newsworthy happens I swing on by to see if you guys are talking about it. Heard about the Israel/Palestine peace agreements with Trump at the helm and possible Nobel Peace Prize suggested, came to read about opinions here. Then I saw a this old thread of mine.
No worries, I’m just visiting, not returning.

What’s going on? Are people deleting their own threads or are moderators deleting them?
Either way, I’m flattered.
