American History X was another movie that left me on an emotional roller coaster for weeks and maybe even still to this day twenty years later!

I was with Derek

I was against Derek

I was with Derek

I was against Derek

I was with Derek

And in the end.....it turns out that DEREK WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!

Good ones listed.  I'll add a few:

Steel Magnolias -- overall a very funny and entertaining movie, but I have a daughter with Type 1 diabetes, so I can never watch it again.

Sommersby -- an obscure (perhaps) chick flick with Richard Gere

I forgot about Sommersby! that's a good one.

#1 answer still has to be Old Yeller because of the ending and worse thing I had to do was put my dog down and I been through a lot before that. Cause you make that choice for them!

I had a DVD recorder and subscribed to most of the movie channels back then. I watched it once, but I've never been able to bring myself to watch it again.

Platoon

Cool Hand Luke, while one of my favorites, is pretty damn depressing.

This made it easier to watch…

   "Depressing"?  Good movie with good ending.

My first thought of a depressing movie was Awakenings. Good movie that I watched with my teenage daughter recently ... she was crying at the end.

I was pretty depressed when I heard that the girl from Saved by the Bell was making a stripper movie and it wasn't Kelly.
