3 pointsWhat kind of data do you think these families are weighing when deciding if it’s “medically right”? “Your kid will kill themselves or hate you if you don’t do this” ”Puberty blockers are safe and reversible” ”The government may take your kid if you don’t affirm their gender” I mean, I’m all for people making their own personal medical decisions, but this is quackery, not medical care.

2 pointsDo you prefer manual or automatic trannies? I like sports cars so have mostly driven manuals but my 4runner has an automatic and it sure is nice not having to shift. So I'm torn on the subject of trannies. What say you?

2 pointsNice first period…. Keep it up Edmonton so this can go back for Florida for game seven on Sunday…

2 pointsTim will tell you they are a net economic benefit. Of course his analysis of the net does not include a cost analysis of rape and murder. It does not include a cost analysis of the reintroduction of deseases we have not seen in decades. It does not include a cost analysis of uninsured motorists or of all our kids whose learning is slowed by our teachers having to spend inordinate amounts of time with kids who have not had a formal education and who don't speak the language. Me, I don't think cheap drywallers and migrant farm workers are worth the cost, but Tim assures me they are a net benefit. Why we could not get whatever benefit there is through legal immigration and seasonal worker visas he never says.

1 pointI never thought Oilers had a chance before the series started and I looked right for a bit. I do not hate either team. (Now - hated Gretzky’s Oilers). Would like to see a game 7. Conner McHockey deserves a cup. Enjoying fun hockey with no real rooting interest. Go NHL !

1 pointIf it becomes clear that forcing a return results in better average field position, I think teams will quickly concede the touchback to the 30 yard line. Teams that master kick-off coverage won't be giving up big returns. Either way, I don't think there will be any consistent FF benefit for potential returners.

1 pointDid a little digging, this seems to be a less slanted summary of the issue from USA Today: Is the government silencing Haim for political reasons or for violating HIPAA? The indictment accuses Haim of illegally accessing patient records, and doing so under false pretenses. If that proves to be accurate, Haim needs to be held accountable. However, Haim's objective − to blow the whistle on Texas Children's Hospital − raises the question of whether his alleged wrongdoing should be taken into account, because the hospital continued treatments on transgender minors when it said it would stop. HIPAA violations should be taken seriously. But "up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 maximum possible fine" for exposing the hospital's alleged wrongdoing seems excessive. The care of transgender minors is fraught with complicated issues. Unlike adults, children, who are still legally minors and who in many cases have yet to reach puberty, cannot truly give informed consent and cannot know what they might want when they become adults. It's vital that ongoing discussions take place among medical providers, youth, their families and policymakers. What must be avoided are efforts to silence dissent. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/columnist/2024/06/18/whistleblower-surgeon-trans-kids-gender-affirming-care-texas/74075234007/ It’s an op ed so probably still slanted, but at least this piece mentions that he allegedly violated HIPAA (sort of a big deal). So interesting issue if he broke the law but is a whistleblower. Kinda like Snowden in that regard I guess.

1 pointWall is a good bit past the Hills, but right smack on top of the Badlands which is an amazing area. And rest easy— if not for me, my wife wouldn’t know squat about Wall Drug. But I can say both my kids have been there, had free ice water and freshly made donuts.

1 pointI fished the black hills a fair but when I lived in Gillette, Wyoming. It was the closest "mountains". I think it is under rated compared to the bighorns, wind river, etc. I want to take my wife/kids, even the caves and optical illusion type tourist traps they have all over the black hills can be fun. Sad, but true. My wife has never heard of wall drug

1 pointHe parrots the liberal stance but doesn't know what any of it is about. He's basically what the left wants as voters.

1 pointhttps://x.com/RonFilipkowski/status/1804109152983109893 (video clip at link) Lauren Boebert, whose son is facing 22 theft related charges after breaking into cars and stealing credit cards, says the Left opposes putting the 10 Commandments in school because they don’t want children to be taught that it’s bad to steal things.
