No. You can show sympathy for the Palestinian civilians, they're going through hell right now. If you send in humanitarian assistance, do so knowing that Hamas and those connected to Hamas will eat and take what they want/need first. Maybe it's worth doing anyways, because after they've eaten drank, patched themselves up, the rest would presumably get distributed. . Also, I'm willing to leave a door open for when/if Israel and Netanyahu actually do something wrong to criticize them. It's just at this point, I see no need to second guess them. They show restraint, they warn civilians to leave, seems to me they're doing what they have to do. Get back to me when their behavior crosses a line. Hamas deliberately uses their people as human shields building their headquarters and supply depots under schools and hospitals and telling families not to move or flee areas the Israelis intend to bomb. I see Hamas as responsible for the death of both Israeli and Palestinian civilians, so I'm not exactly upset with the Israelis who go to some lengths not to harm them.

The most concerning part of all this isn't that people are speaking about things that Israel is doing wrong or could do better. All that is fine and people can have different opinions. What is problematic is all the morons who are chanting "From the River to the Sea" and openly supporting Hamas. One can argue that they are too stupid to get the true meaning of that I guess but if that's the case it's even more concerning that people that clueless are still motivated to action in such a way. We have a much stronger undercurrent of Marxism and hatred of Western culture in this country than I thought. That to me is way more concerning long term than anything a foreign military is capable of doing to us.

Been thinking on selling the house with this PCS move to Japan. We should get something like $300 from the home sale if it all goes smoothly. What if instead of buying another house when we get back . We just invest the whole thing immediately? I mean... we put it in our Vanguard brokerage account? Vanguard 500 ETF (VOO), which is Vanguards SP500 mirror has averaged 12.92% each year since inception 13 years ago. If we do that... $300 in 10 years @ 7% is $590K 10% is $778K 13% is $1,018K When we get back we just rent or I get a VA loan for another house down the road with 0% down. When will we ever have $300k free and clear? Never... Also thought about maybe when we come back (3 years minimum, 5 max) we can use that $300k to down pay several rentals? My pops has rentals... and a couple AirBnB's he's been renting to companies for $2500 a month. So I could learn from him. After thinking about it for awhile, I feel like putting that $300 down on another house would just be a wasted opportunity.
