kilroy69 1,251 Posted June 15, 2014 KISS for sure. They put makeup on and played bad music. Twisted sister did it better.
drobeski 3,061 Posted June 15, 2014 Rapyup talking over stolen beats and riffs can't get any less talented than that
Bill E. 703 Posted June 15, 2014 Agree with everything here except Sting. Abba and Gwen Stefani are ok. Especially agree with Rap sucking worse than any music ever created. My farts sound better than rap.

Voltaire 5,317 Posted June 16, 2014 Gonna be really hard to beat Kiss. Kiss is losing 4-3 as I cast another vote for ©rap.
Mike Honcho 5,288 Posted June 16, 2014 Seems a few people don't understand the difference between "No-talent" and just not liking something. Taken as a whole, it's tough to beat Kiss in a no-talent, so I'll vote for them.
hoytdwow 202 Posted June 16, 2014 American culture places a premium on having no talent, or at least having very superficial talent, like being able to mimic other artists. Look at shows like American Idol and The Voice.
hoytdwow 202 Posted June 16, 2014 I don't really like Kiss, but they are not untalented. They're just overrated. And U2....wow. I mean, say what you want about Bono and his causes and over the top delivery, but The Edge is a great guitarrist.
Mike Honcho 5,288 Posted June 16, 2014 U2 For some reason, I just can not stand these focks. The Police and STING or whatever the fock his name is too. Those guys focking BLOW. It isn't a lack of talent that is the reason you don't like them.
vuduchile 1,945 Posted June 16, 2014 Janet Jackson Brittany Spears KISS definitely sucked, but they did write all those crappy songs and play those three chords on their own instruments. Janet and Brittany can't sing or play an instrument. Their formula is dress like a stripper, do a little dance, sing at slightly lower decibels than their backup singers and throw in a few whispers and grunts. Bada Bing. Instant stardom. vuduchile 1,945 Posted June 16, 2014 It isn't a lack of talent that is the reason you don't like them. Agreed. I haven't liked much of what they've done in the last 10 years, but they're a fairly talented group.
crackattack 520 Posted June 16, 2014 U2's early stuff is great. Joshua Tree is a focking outstanding album. Their more recent stuff....meh. I would vote Kiss.
NewbieJr 541 Posted June 16, 2014 American culture places a premium on having no talent, or at least having very superficial talent, like being able to mimic other artists. Look at shows like American Idol and The Voice. Is having a great singing voice a talent? I say it is.

hoytdwow 202 Posted June 16, 2014 Is having a great singing voice a talent? I say it is. Of course it is. And using it to simulate other singers to win a contest is superficial
NewbieJr 541 Posted June 16, 2014 Of course it is. And using it to simulate other singers to win a contest is superficial But the thread is about people without talent. There is a ton of talented singers on American Idol. The structure of the show lends to them doing cover versions (or, as you call them, impersonations) of songs. Many of them (Kelly Clarkson, Phil Phillips, Daughtry, etc) turn out to be talented songwriters. And can play guitar or other instruments. Like someone said earlier, people are confusing having no talent with acts they simply don't like.
paulinstl 296 Posted June 16, 2014 But the thread is about people without talent. Don't forget the a$$clown aspect to this thread.
hoytdwow 202 Posted June 16, 2014 My point is that the American Idol doesn't value actual artistic or musical talent, just the aping of celebrities. If it did, it would be a songwriting contest. There was a girl on the Voice a few weeks back who was playing a guitar that wasn't plugged in. It's a farce. And sure Daughtry went on to succeed, but he didn't win the contest writing his own songs, because you can't sell Doritos and Bud Light with that.

That's because it's a singing contest, not a songwriting contest. Singing, on its own merit, is a talent. But, like I said, many of them have songwriting and instrumental abilities, too. Just this past season, Alex Preston and Jena were both musicians and songwriters. And they were 2 of the top 3. There's plenty of talent on AI. Things are just much different now. Record labels don't send talent scouts to the local dive bars to sign the next radio star. There are outlets for these folks to show themselves off to millions. rholio 339 Posted June 16, 2014 ok who's a better guitarist clapton if eddy van halen This should be funny With different styles it can be difficult to say. I think Eddie may have better technical ability when he's sober, but Clapton is definitely better at evoking emotion with his style and musical ability. I'd give a slight edge to Clapton for that.
