fandandy 3,313 Posted January 30, 2020 Quote The World Health Organization (WHO) said that, so far, most of those who have died from the virus had “underlying health conditions,” such as hypertension, diabetes or cardiovascular diseases, which weakened their immune systems. Of the reported cases, one quarter experienced severe disease symptoms. .So basically Americans are focked.

After the people that caused the scare get healthy should they be locked up for their selfishness. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/italy-to-let-passengers-off-cruise-ship-after-virus-scare/ar-BBZtrNS My in-laws are on a cruise in the bahamas and they are of Chinese decent, i wonder if everyone avoided them today. supermike80 1,925 Posted January 30, 2020 https://news.yahoo.com/stranded-wuhan-foreigners-raise-call-help-virus-epicentre-062945815.html OK. F you China. I thought they were the new world super power etc etc etc. And yet, here we go again, everyone crying for the good ol' US to help. And stop asking Japan, they hate you. But why us? I can't see us begging China for help if we had the flu outbreak here. We would just handle it. Oh yeah also we do a better job of making sure our food markets are at least adhering to some standard of health and cleanliness. Eat it China..You caused this mess, we have to deal with it on our own now thanks to your lax controls, so fix it yet damn self. Rant over

Ace was out and I expect similar from other stores so I bought 3Ms on Amazon a few minutes ago, but they were $6 each for 10. But, I'm close to a Walmart so i may stop in and try, more for the immediate availability (Amazon was next Wednesday, if they arrive) than the price.

FlyinHeadlock 459 Posted January 31, 2020 Something like over 60K die from the common cold in the United States a year. I'm not saying this is not a big deal but I do think it's being made into something it's likely not. It can kill people with weak immune systems. If it was killing super healthy people then yeah, that is a problem.

Disney who love money more than any company closed Disney Land Shanghai. WHO has called a global emergency Russia has closed their boarder to China Extreme measures are taken if someone is even suspected of having this virus And you think this is the common cold? I think the shipping is pretty quick and I believe the warehouse is in San Diego. I accidentally bought a more expensive than necessary kind from there earlier (unless they had a restock since then). I noticed N95s were out of stock at the site I linked Volty yesterday (another janitorial supply co.) and in the midst of an oddly hectic day at work, having seen from yesterday on many sites how quickly they go out of stock, it just seemed like a prudent thing to do. But allotting 5 minutes to source and purchase something online was not the greatest for my wallet.
FlyinHeadlock 459 Posted January 31, 2020 I don't know what I don't know. What I do know is right now, it hasn't killed that many. Nowhere near the common cold. If it starts getting over that number then yes. That is a problem. Right now it is not. Sorry, I live in reality and the world of rational thought processing. Guilty as charged. naomi 356 Posted January 31, 2020 It's killed a lot of people relative to confirmed cases. There's strong indication China isn't reporting accurate numbers. Reputable sources report crematoriums being overwhelmed, receiving non-ID'd bodies from hospitals. If the hospitals are too busy and full to do that piece right, then you know those people aren't counted. I can link to some of this stuff. It's apparently mutating in unexpected ways too Personally I'm not worried per se, I am open to info from all different angles because this situation especially calls for that. And you can only do what you can do. BUT, I had a weird sense several mornings ago, laying in bed, before it was the third highest priority story, that this was a "do" thing. Take action ahead. It was like an intuition/6th sense thing and mostly centered on making sure my parents get to a house in the family that's in a rural area. It could totally just be power of suggestion, BUT, it was also a "don't ignore me" sense, so not ignoring it. Sorta feel like a weirdo too but again, can't ignore it. Someone that would do that has no redeeming qualities and does not deserve even limited medical care. Where my head is, if I were to go to the US right now, PLEASE put us in quarantine for two weeks. Maybe that chick rode with the taxi driver or somebody that came in contact with her did. Even if it's eight degrees of separation, that's still eight degrees too many. I wouldn't want to go to my sister's house and put her family at risk. (In fairness everybody who gets on a bus or taxi has to wear a mask as do the drivers but these are supposed to be disposable one-time use mask that will likely have to last the whole focking time or until production catches up to demand). I could probably leave and take the kids, probably should, but my wife is a Chinese citizen and so is her mother and just sitting in an airport or getting on a plane full of Chinese people is a scary thought. We're in lockdown at home and not leaving the house except to shop. I'm a teacher and since school isn't in session, I have that convenience. How many of our neighbors have to go out every day? School is (still) scheduled to re-start February 15th. That's when we'll either start to lose money or put ourselves at risk. Fortunatly I live where the weather is wonderful. This is related to pneumonia and you don't normally get pneumonia in summer (but you can, I looked it up). Our highs are in the upper 60s (lows in the 40s) so we're close and it should already be warmer. By mid February, hopefully, it'll be in the 80s during the day. Not this situation persay but imagine in the future a pandemic with an airborne pathogen. Do you think China with a population of 1.4 billion people is going to ship masks outside of their country? They will choose to let their ppl die to fulfill orders to the US? Hell no. I have no idea where this stuff is produced but that to me is news. Someone from one of the lettered networks should get off their nuts and actually investigate.

Lots of good Twitter sources, Chinese journalists, doctors, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health people, and just generally smart people from different fields. I don't think it traces back to the weird food market. It's probably a lab escape, which they were actually warned about. I think the origin may explain the initial days of the response from authorities. There's a video posted from a young man in Wuhan, the day after the lockdown went into place, explaining what things were like beforehand and then during. Definitely questionable. Calm, smart viral pathology knowledgeable docs are finding the properties of this virus remark worthy (remarkable) so far. I haven't seen anything from a major media source, save the Daily Mail and BBC.
