That's not the problem. 

The problem is trust has collapsed in the United States.  When the system tries to tell the racial majority of a nation they are bad people when the people have lost trust in the system, you get a civil war.  If 80% of the public trusted the system, this stuff would go off without a hitch.  But it is going to start a war because trust is gone.  The NFL was able to move the super bowl from Arizona over the MLK issue and not suffer at all because trust in the system among the public was MUCH higher back then.

They didn't have much choice here however. The players demanded it, and stomping on that would have had repercussions too.

The NFL was getting to the point of barely worth watching before all this. The watered down product. The obscene amount of commercials. The reviews and penalties. It just isn't the game we grew up loving anymore. Makes it easy to walk away.

The NFL isn't the NBA..Fans of the NBA love players,  NFL fans root for laundry.  They could fire the whole crop of NFL players, replace them, and the ratings would suffer only slightly.  It's not like the whole league isn't essentially replaced every 5 years anyway.

Unfortunately, he said he would "stand for both anthems".  There NOT two mother fk'n anthems.  As long as they keep playing both anthems I won't be watching.

It is great hearing the media try to spin this. A. It did not happen. It was the chiefs fans saying chieeeeeeffsssssssss. Because that sounds a lot like boo to me.  B. THEY are disappointed in US.  Now you know the feeling.  The majority of the NFL may be black but the majority of fans are white. Of those people a large portion are NOT going to support the message being shoved down our throats that black people are special.

If you don't want to deal with that just tune in at kickoff and change the channel at half time. 

The stupid messages on the helmets were tiny, could barely see them. The stupid messages in the end zone were a tiny script in the out of bounds area that you could barely see on tv.

 

I suspect the NFL will face more backlash from woke people who think they didn't do enough than from proud Americans who actually watched the game.

Maybe we can stick a fork in the woke complaining, NFL season is here and ready to lead the way back to sanity in this country. 

This is basically where I am.  Then again I turned it on 5 minutes in so I missed the intro stuff.  And only 1/2 paid attention the rest of the way.  I did notice that the end zone said Chiefs, I was like WTF, I thought they were going SJW on them?!  Eventually I saw the tiny script mentioned above, whoop de fock.

The NFL is stuck between a rock and a hard place; all things considered I thought the parts I saw were focused on football, and will increasingly be so over time.  There won't be such a production before every game, and as long as they keep if mostly from between the lines, I'm fine.  Unlike NBA with those awful uniforms and woke messages dominating the floor.

My gut feeling is that there's going to come a day where fans in a stadium or arena will charge the field and attack protesting players.   I mean you have the salt of the earth blue collar types struggling to feed their families and make ends meet shelling out big bucks to enjoy a sport, and on the other side are rich millionaires calling them racists.  These fans are booing them now, but it won't take much to push them into violence I think at this point.  The only thing is there are games in front of empty seats or sparse crowds which might prevent it.  But it feels like these sporting events are where the rawest emotions on both sides meet in large numbers.

If it’s not about disrespect of the flag and anthem, then why did players on the Giants and other teams all stand for the black national anthem then, as in the Giants case, a dozen or so kneel for the SSB? How come the PA guy says “please join us as we honor our country as we play our national anthem”?  And then they kneel? That narrative is destroyed. I respect the teams that stayed in the locker room more than those guys.
