Take for example Rachel Maddow. She hates home recycling and thinks it a waste of money (which it is) but her show, she's attacking oil, coal industries. Could you imagine her doing a show on the waste and fraud of recycling. Her viewers would be mortified.

I don't think people want a Civil War, but I honestly think it's inevitable.  Not sure how it's going to happen, but at some point it will.  The reason being is that the Left is going to push for their agenda and about half the country will be against it.  There will be an event, not sure what yet, but there will be one to set it off.  My guess is that there will be a removal from the Constitution affecting people's rights or a socialistic bill that will make it legal to trample peoples' rights.  The Democrats will accept nothing less than total conformity.  There is no middle ground for them.  It's their way or no way.  Cancel culture is evidence of this.

I think this is one of the things that bugs me the most. Cancel culture and blacklisting those who have supported Trump. Businesses, etc. We see it with regular people when there are those who are "blacklisting" friends and family...where as before, that didn't happen on such a huge scale - at least from what I remember. 

I had several friends touting that Republicans had a "cult" mentality...but it seems that the Dems have their own cult as well. It's a little frightening and disheartening, really.

I agree.  I have never seen a Trump supporter, or even a republican, state they will no longer be friends with a democrat.  Even a loony liberal.   We just kind of shake our head and wonder at how these libs can believe what they do but fundamentally we accept them and their lunacy.

I have one right winger friend from HS who I lost my interest in years ago but stays around the group. He won’t talk to anyone who voted for Biden. If I still cared I would inform him that the problems in his life can’t be made better no matter who the president is. He’s a mess. Nobody really pays him mind. My BF didn’t vote for Trump, went R down ballot. I get it.
