For what it is worth recent monthly oil production in the US was lowest when Trump was president(may 2020) and the average production over the last few months was pretty consistent with the average production in 2018. You're right that gas prices and inflation are tied to supply and demand, but as I've said before, demand dropped precipitously during COVID, supply slowed and then pent-up demand exploded and supply isn't keeping pace.
