For some reason I actually enjoy making it. I think it's fun. Especially in winter. Have the fireplace blasting away. Some good music on in the background. I have fun adding different things to it and tweaking the recipe. Have a fire going as well. Always a beer and sometimes like to add some beer to the chili as well. Makes for a good afternoon. I use Shiner Bock or Dos XX to deglaze the pot after I brown the meat. I usually end up drinking the other 5 as I cook. Same thing when I make Sunday Gravy.
