Ukraine - Doomsday

It is rather clear, from Putin's past, they he has always seen Ukraine as part of Russia.

If you think about how this likely happened it can make sense.

Like our leftists today, Stalin and his cronies re-wrote history and framed "history" to assert that Ukraine was always part of Russia, they changed history. And thus you have generations of Russians who have been indoctrinated in the "new truth" of Soviet dogma.

This is what the re-writing of history today in the this nation is a dark spectre.

Typical....a few sentences too many and you go into crazy land.

Post one that even comes close. You’re such a dope. It would be as if I said the south went to war to keep slavery and you would claim I support the south’s position. Saying why someone did something isn’t the same as agreeing to what they did.  You don’t lie to crazy people.  Because they’re crazy.

Everyone sees what you are doing...Say one small thing in favor and then 2 against....the whole "I agreed with this..." method of arguing.

I don't believe any educated adult truly believes that the earth is flat.  It's all just a fad.  Anyone that really does believe it has to have some sort of mental disability.

I worked with a smart, college-educated guy years ago who was a flat earther. A lot of them are smarmy types who feel all smart and good about themselves because they think they know something that others don't. It's the same thing with Qanon. They watch a bunch of pseudoscience YouTube videos, read stuff on the Internet and attend a convention.

A flat earther forum would make for a great jihad if it were a slow rollout and handled just right. They are always on high alert for trolls like me.

Well, then, there should be numerous small things I’ve said in favor of them.  Have at it. You won’t. Cuz ya can’t.

Ukraine has a long history off-and-on independence and domination by foreign countries such as Russia, Poland and Lithuania.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine

Ukraine has been free for 30 years, so Putin's claim validity is weak, at best, and Russia and the Soviet Union have a long history of focking over and killing the people of that region.

This is something humanity should not be returning to.

Also he says we can save a lot of lives by clearly communicating a no fly zone above Kyev and the west of Ukraine, staying far from the Russian border with no intent to bomb ground forces but only to keep the sky in those areas free of Russian planes.

Poor Ukraine. Paid all those bribes to the west, including the presidents son, and got nothing for it.

It does not seem like a resolution will happen quickly, although I think it is a good thing that Putin is talking to other world leaders. They talked for 2 hours and all we get out of it is this little bit of information.

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/putin-tells-macron-russia-will-achieve-its-goals-ukraine-2022-03-03/?taid=6220cc3c9fa2ce00010f23fb&utm_campaign=trueAnthem:+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter

Russian President Vladimir Putin told French leader Emmanuel Macron on Thursday that Russia would achieve the goals of its military intervention in Ukraine whatever happens, the Kremlin said.

In a statement issued after the French and Russian presidents spoke by phone, the Kremlin made clear its goals included the demilitarisation and neutrality of Ukraine.

I agree with your positions.   I further submit that Putin believes this because Stalin himself pushed it, made it part of education.  He "revised" history to be more accurate to HIS mind, not unlike we see happening in our educational system today. The correlation should give us pause.

I lean toward Biden should have talked/should talk with Putin. Not sure if we're not open to talk because of the nature of the situation, or because Biden is entirely handled and that just wouldn't work.

When Macron can talk with him, seems pretty lame we're taking the posture we have been.

Wanting peace and embracing communication go strongly together.

Yes, he is.

Often is is true that the loudest mouth-tough guy ends up being much more bravado than action.  He wanted to pretend he was some kind of tough guy toward Trump and then also did the same relative to Putin.  He lied well, won an election and was clearly over matched from the start.

It is true.  No different than there being Nazis in the US though.  I can't remember where I read it but it said something about there being just as many Neo-Nazis in Montana as there are in Ukraine.  No idea if that's true or not though.

You and cdub are proud racists.  How is that virtue signaling to acknowledge the irony of guys that are unabashedly racist pimping an excuse that Ukraine needs to be cleansed of white supremacists overrunning the country as a viable reason to invade a country on Putin's behalf.

My opinions are:

  1. Putin thinking NATO is going to invade Russia or some sh¡t is retarded.  Even if they install a friendly government in Ukraine, how would that even deter a potential NATO advance?  NATO countries don't even want to pony up the military expenditures they are obligated to as part of NATO.  You think they're going to what?  invade Russia?  That's total BS.
  2. This idea that Ukraine is overrun by Nazis that need to be stopped is even more retarded.  Russia has no business in Crimea or any other region of Ukraine even if some militia group is giving separatists a hard time.  Ooooh!   They're ethnic Russians?  Are they actual Russians?
  3. Ukraine is likely guilty of putting out just as much misinformation as Russia with all these mighty victories and Russian defections they are claiming.
  4. US should put the usual BS sanctions on Russia like we always do in these spots and mind our own business otherwise.
  5. US should not be sending weapons and especially no military support to Ukraine.

Ah yes, where were we.  Oh that's right, nobody was gratuitously calling me and CDub racists on the way to making some point.  First of all, Putin's primary reason is to absorb/re-absorb the ethnic Russians and lands in the East, who've been under attack for several years now.  Your points:

1.  You wouldn't be concerned if a country bordering yours was going to join a military alliance that is hostile to you?  Come on.  Why does NATO even exist nowadays?

2.  Yes they're ethnic Russians and they've been under attack for some time, as I mentioned above.  You like slo mo genocides and terrorism of ethnic populations?  I guess that's your right.

3.  Agree

4.  Agree with mind your business, don't agree with sanctions.  We pay for sanctions; not any of these governments.

5.  Agree

It was either yesterday or the day before.  I've been reading a lot of content about what's been going on lately.  Not only that but I'm also at work, so I don't really keep track of all the stuff outside of work.

but these are actually govt funded Neo-Nazis.  It would be like having a KKK branch in our military, its not just some random nazis sprinkled into the military, they are an actual sect. We funded this group, aka al-queda

also I have trouble finding neo nazis every where I go
