Yes, there was a warning for twitter to be on the lookout for a potential “hack and leak operation,” and a rumor that it might involve Hunter Biden.

But there was certainly reason to be skeptical of the emails in particular.  Yes it was known that the FBI had it, but there was no indication initially if the FBI authenticated it or confirmed the chain of custody.  As well as things like this:
