I think what's changed is everyone's ability to bully more often and be even more personal without having any repercussions.  It's easier than ever with technology and people have anonymity when they do it.  Too many people are getting sucked into an online world of hate and negativity.

I think bullying was more overt in school when I was in school but didn’t have the x factor of social media

That too. Kids on social media can be influenced by any crackpot on the internet. Giving kids access to social media and not monitoring who they are conversing with is like handing the phone to random strangers and letting your kid talk to them everyday. The latest shooter is 28, 10+ years removed from the school.  

I'm not saying bullying isn't a factor (although I have thoughts on that), but it seems a minor factor at best in this instance.

It can be a decade later, but still be a fixation for a shooter.  It doesn't mean the bullying was current- more like it could have occurred there, not been addressed,and left the school as a "symbol" of the bullying.  Last I saw, there was 2 potential targets as well, but not sure if they have said what the other could have been.

I remember this girl in school, we all thought she was probably ghey, she was a "tomboy" played sports kept her hair short.  Saw her years later way after school, a smokeshow.  Still into athletics and fit, gorgeous with a beautiful family.    I honestly think if she grew up in this climate today people would be in her ear, we are a product of our environment and children are easily manipulated or at best confused.  Puberty has all sorts of hormones going all over the place, its a crazy time.

Point being why in the ever-loving fock would society want kids making lifelong decisions about their body that you CANNOT come back from until they 18 years old?  That is the arbitrary age we as a society have deemed to move from childhood to adulthood.  

Some kids do have gender dysphoria and there should be counseling, support etc for those kids, but surgery?  hormone blockers?  No way.  She may just be a tom boy until her body and mind fully develop.

This isn't rocket science stuff.  Sometimes good old fashion logic and common sense have to be applied.

I learned a bunch from it, including the fact that all of these genders (and things like "cultural appropriation") came from Tumblr, which came off as a female 4chan in the pods.

Also it is amazing how mysoginistic the anti-TERF crowd is.

And I agree with Rowling, whose basic premise is:  do what you want if you are Trans, but stay out of single-sex spaces like sports and prisons.

Also look at "Ellen Page". When he/she/they started in Hollywood as Ellen Page, she was a very young but cute/pretty girl. She wasn't model good looking, but against the average person and average American girl, she was clearly attractive. When Page transitioned to "Elliot Page", then he/she/they was a mostly OK looking person in terms of aesthetics. Very short for a guy obviously, if that's to be considered, but not someone seen as ugly. 

That's another issue no one wants to talk about. There are men so ugly and out of shape that they can't get any women at all. And if they were "gay" then gay men still wouldn't want them too. So what's left? I guess for some that's being transgender. 

What's the saying? If you can't do, then "teach" So maybe there's a large subset of transgenders who struggled to find traditional partners of the opposite sex. Then realize as a traditional gay, that same sex didn't want them either. So they had to go into a t. hird category. 

Does that offend people? That it's probably human nature for some lonely people to keep leveling into different tiers to try to find one where there's a chance they might get laid.
