The distain for teachers as a whole is disgusting.  It's sad when professions like police and teachers are losing good people left and right.

Seems each team has a pet profession they love to crap on regularly.

While I agree with you in principle about teachers, the fact of the matter they are the ones posting on tick-tock, twitter and youtube all of their far-left perversion and indoctrination.  I mean, they're LITERALLY telling us and showing us what they're doing.  Now, could it be a small but VERY vocal group? Sure, but I don't see the other, "normal" liberal teachers fighting back.

The only one I see doing it is Bill Maher - and he isn't a teacher.  No one on the left is speaking out against this.  In fact, the VERY leaders of the Democrat Party are either being silent OR encouraging the behavior.

It is likely that even your average Democrat is not supportive of it either.  But what are they to do exactly? If they say anything other than full support they face excommunication....they have to fall in line out of fear.

Mao would likely appreciate our modern day liberal to a significant extent.

It is not distain for teachers.  It is distant for teachers who believe they know what is best for children in spite of what parents think.  Not that there aren't bad parents out there, but there is a group of teachers out there who actively want to push their ideals down the throats of children.

I think almost all  teachers are trying to get through the day and do their jobs. They have challenges that are often out of their hands. But the leadership of their unions have gone way, way beyond protecting pay, working conditions and benefits. They are political ideologues pushing their ideology on the entirety of the system. And when we say shitty parents, we know who we are talking about. Unsupportive, un- engaged ones that treat schools like day care. The leadership of the unions would have us believe the shitty parents are the engaged ones that push back on their ideology. Some of them can be over the top as well, but by and large they aren’t the real problem. It’s the ones that DGAF that are the big problem, and somehow they escape criticism.

Yeah, but the rhetoric is never this.  It's never some teachers, or the bad cops, it's talked about as though it's the entire group.

Just an observation, nobody is going to change.  I know I wouldn't want to be in either profession right now.

We like our daughters primary teacher. The technology teacher is great too.

Some meh...

We hate the art teacher and the gym teacher.

You know who would never say anything to counter the two ridiculous teachers?

The teachers we like.

So when it comes to the wackadoodle drag queen crap or the porno cartoon stuff I hold them all accountable because they allow the blue hair whackos to speak for them.

I haven’t read much of D’Angelo but I’m pretty familiar with other writers who promote or support CRT. They’re muckrakers in the classic American tradition- they expose serious problems in our society and culture and propose radical solutions. Most of the time, both in terms of studying history and the present day, I find myself rejecting their radical solutions while at the same time appreciating their exposure of our problems. That was the case with Upton Sinclair, who wrote The Jungle which brilliantly attacks turn of the century capitalism, but then not so brilliantly demands that it be replaced with socialism. That is definitely the case here with regard to CRT.

So you’re on record saying that black racism doesn’t count, but you’re against radical solutions for racism? On point for you I guess.

I never said that racism from black people “doesn’t count”; I wrote that it’s insignificant when compared to structural institutional racism which has been top down.

I’m generally opposed to radical solutions for anything.

You used the term “irrelevant”. Giving license for individuals to be racist because you think systems are racist,  is one of the dumbest things you’ve posted. No one is shocked that you think black racism is meaningless.  Your posts are a reminder to us all of the caliber of people we could encounter in our daily lives. Right from Kendi, and radical as fuk.

People like Tim think it’s ok for white males today and in the future to be discriminated against and denied opportunities because white males like him had it so easy.  So your kids get to sacrifice on behalf of his easy road. Win-win. For him. Fock your son. White males have had it too good.

And just to clarify, when Tim says it's okay for white males to be discriminated against, he's not talking about himself or the ones he cares about.  He's talking about everyone else - standard operating procedure from someone on the left.  Rules for thee, but not for me!

The left are manufacturing these banning.  It is their usual crock of crap they cook up.  The people who are banning books are the leftist behind the scenes.  They don't want an open process which determines the contents available in the library.  They want some leftist kook who spent four years studying the 757 flavors of genders to be picking out pornography to fill the schools bookshelves and curriculum.  Leftist have become nothing but a bunch of lying sicko bastards who has lost all concepts of what good governance is and instead want everything done by leftist perverts behind closed doors.

The DeSantis administration has taken a decidedly Stalinist approach to education: we will teach what we want you to learn, all else is verboten!

I felt you should be aware that they are amending the AP test and such, so you can declare them Satalinist, or Facist, or what ever term you pluck out of the air to serve your tantrum over not having your way.

JFC What value did the students get from writing their own obituaries for something that has like a 10 million to 1 probability? They are 3 times more likely to get attacked by a shark.

Do you think that chance is higher or lower than the chances of a doctor forcing them to get a mastectomy?

That teacher is a complete clown. In a better world he wouldn’t even consider doing something  so stupid. And I’m sure this is the manifestation of his stupidity, not a one off.

In my opinion, both.  Dumb way to present the assignment, yet, an overreaction to said assignment.

If these changes cause DeSantis and Florida to allow the course, I will be pleased about that. I will  also be forced to come in here and concede that I was wrong about DeSantis, since I accused him of using these details to cancel the course which he simply didn’t want in the first place. I won’t mind being wrong in this case because the result will be a positive one IMO.

But let’s see if that happens.

I think the move will absolutely appease conservatives, but is likely to enrage liberals.  Time will tell.

But nothing will get addressed about the true issue…leftists continuing to shoehorn toxic ideology and activism where it doesn’t belong.

If my aunt had a cack he’d be my uncle? The teacher picked a political hot topic. The assignment isn’t an issue. He could have went with a non-political issue like drunk driving or consumption of drugs laced with fentanyl. You know things kids should worry about dying from.

I understand your point.

I think that any outcome where at least there is some modertation, in both directions, is the best possible outcome.

Not allowing the left to silence opposing views, and also not allowing the right to completely shield progress, is good. The government saying out of it all is also highly preferrable.

It doesn't seem that he said to write their obituary as if they died in a school shooting.   Just if they died at all, but it happened to be the same day they did an active shooter drill.  I guess schools should stop doing those since the chances are so low of it happening?

I doubt it changes anything.  Willing to bet that the vast majority of people majoring in those fields of study are women.  Football, baseball, and men's basketball are the meal ticket for those schools... every other men's sport along with women's sports, are only along for the ride.  On top of that, the athletes are only in college for the NIL and sport, not an education.  If the kids are smart and looking for a real education, DEI programs are their target.

I don’t like it, but I’m going to lay off criticizing DeSantis for a while. For all his faults, he’s the only Republican with a still decent chance of beating you know who.

No AP Psych courses allowed anymore. Brilliant, Ron!

Another win in Florida. Although psychology is where this garbage mental illness should be discussed I don’t remember psychology being a course in high school anywhere

I took Psychology in High School, great class. It's helpful to have some psychological knowledge when dealing with the MAGAmooks. Helps you understand the delusions a bit better.
