Question for conservatives: do you want Trump as 2024 nominee?

Recommended Posts

I voted for him twice.  Like his policies while acknowledging that he's a focking trainwreck.

I personally would prefer someone else as the Republican presidential candidate as I'm afraid folks will knee jerk vote for anyone else due to personal feelings about Trump the man vs his policies.

Thoughts?

I’d rather RD. But if Trump gets the nod there’s no Fockin way I’m voting for Kamala  to become president.  So Trump it is if he is it.

If Donald Trump leaves politics forever, Team Blue has no more excuses.

The core strategy is to blame everything that's wrong on Donald Trump. Some things are issues where Trump legitimately made things into a mess. I won't deny that. But the level in which he's used as a pure sin eater and a blanket go-to excuse for everything wrong with the current Democratic Party is patently ridiculous.

Then the plan is what you can't blame on Trump, that you blame on racism and bigotry.

Without Trump as a non stop narrative, then it becomes clear that Team Blue has no plan, no strategy, no merit, no pathway to help the average working class American citizen.

I'm tired of Trump. I'm tired of his exhausting clown show behavior. He was useful in 2016 to point out the hypocrisy and corruption of the "establishment", but it's just too much now.

I have nothing against traditional liberals. In effect, I believe they are held hostage even worse by the radical left than Conservatives. Liberals in the vein of Bill Maher right now are relatively moderate. Because most people in the country are actually mostly moderate if you get to know them.

But the radical left and the store bought establishment Democrats are completely insane. Once Trump is gone for good, there is nothing left to blame but what is clearly incompetence and pure unhinged zealotry.

I want Trump out of politics for good. This is like Andy Reid on the Eagles who refused to just run the damn football. The GOP and Conservatives just need to keep it simple here. Take the easy win. Because just about ANY Republican other than Trump can win the 2024 general election against Biden. Even Newsom if it comes to that. Just hand the football off and punch it up the gut while trying to find the end zone.

I'd prefer Nikki Haley as the nominee. She doesn't sound like a caricature nor some one dimensional character from a sitcom.

The only interesting thing about a Trump 2024 run is that he might pick Kari Lake as his running mate. And with a pure national platform, she would literally eviscerate every Team Blue idiotic decision and scandal for 6 months straight. She would basically burn the entire DNC to the ground.

Thanks.

Agreed that I'll vote for Trump again if he's the candidate, though.

Then again my vote will once again be meaningless based upon where I live.  Been that way ever since I could vote.

Country was strong under Trump leadership.  Of course I'll vote Trump in primary and general elections.

Donald Trump was easily the weakest President of modern times. A field mouse has more courage.

Also you’re right: the country was strong due to the policies of Barack Obama. Trump messed it up.

I"m not a conservative, but sure I'd like for him to run again. I doubt he'd win.

I hope Biden wins. We need everything to get much worse before it gets better.

Country was divided under Trump.

He gives the radical left and the establishment Democrats enough ammunition to drag in all these other psychotic clown show antics. Trump was as political outsider. However he was not an outsider in terms of status and wealth. He had an entire lifetime worth of scandal and personal chaos that got dragged into the public sphere.

I would enjoy a version of Trump ( but not actually Trump) that speaks their mind, has many of the same policies, but is less of a combative grifter.

If it's Trump vs Biden in 2024, I'd vote Trump if only I'd vote just about anyone over Biden at this point. I'd write in Cersei Lannister before I'd vote for Joe Biden. I'd write in Carrot Top over Joe Biden.

Trump makes everything harder than it has to be. Is he right that the clear "witchhunt" against him is unreasonable and clearly violates some pretty basic principles of our democracy? Sure, he's clearly right about that. But a lot of this hot mess, he doesn't do much to actually help himself. He has to stop giving his enemies so much ammo to use against him. But he won't do that. It's too late, so it's time to move on.

Trump vs Biden 2.0, IMHO, is just a really pathetic but almost inevitable matchup for 2024. Voting for Trump means losing less. Not winning. Just losing less than what amounts to a human house plant at this point.

The Democrats should just run Katie Porter. She sounds like an actual rational practical person who clearly has some idea of how the real working class operates and lives. Except since she can't be controlled, she has no chance.

Take away Trump out of professional politics and the entire radical left in this country collapses. They've literally got nothing without their Trump Hate. So take that away and find someone in the GOP who is more reasonable but is clearly more Presidential.

They'll attack DeSantis (or any other Republican nominee unless it's some hack similar to Jeb Bush) and try to make him into a monster just like they did with Trump.

That’s the game for sure (hint: Joe Biden isn’t a socialist).

That is absolutely positively true. In that, I agree with you completely.

The radical left, establishment Democrats, Big Social Media ( sans Twitter) and the majority of the MSM will hit DeSantis hard on his abortion views. A large reason Trump lost ( on paper) in 2020 was he gave ground with White Evangelical voters and with Suburban Women voters.

Even with being attacked, DeSantis can win a general election versus Biden.

But Nikki Haley is the safe bet. She's impossible to cancel. She has no large major scandal shadowing her. She has foreign policy experience, she's a minority woman in a "Make Good" story from an immigrant family. There is a small handful of things that she can be criticized about, but nothing with the kind of leverage against Trump or DeSantis.

Either DeSantis/Tim Scott or Haley ( and just about anyone without too much baggage) , or a combination of DeSantis/Haley on the same ticket, is a lock to win 2024 POTUS.

No need to try to climb a mountain with one arm chained to your back. ( i.e. riding the Trump Train again)  The GOP and Conservatives just need to focus on the easy win here.

I prefer Haley, but DeSantis is perfectly acceptable if he can get past the abortion narrative against him.  Yes, they'll be attacked, but at least you won't have voters casting their ballots AGAINST Trump for the sake of despising Trump. Trump does create huge turnout for the GOP. But he also creates huge turnout for the other side too. He just enrages so many leftists that they come out and will pick a human house plant, a corrupt one at that, over him.

George W Bush - Imbecile

Barack Obama - Race hustler sociopath

Donald Trump - Unhinged grifter, but was blunt and honest about the "establishment" ( the alternative was Hillary Clinton, a pure psychopath or Bernie Sanders, a woke Beta nimrod)

Joe Biden - Human sock puppet and part time house plant

Lots of people have had enough. No more Trump and no more Biden. If the political establishment keeps this up, keeps up this level of idiotic mediocrity, the professional military class in this country will eventually start a coup.

Rolling out Trump again is like Andy Reid forcing the Eagles to throw 90 percent of the time and refusing to run the damn football. You are at the one yard line and you go into a five WR set. Why Andy? Why do that? Same thing for pushing more Trump. Why make this harder than it needs to be? Just run the damn football. Just pick DeSantis or Haley and take the win.

It has become very clear that the deep state is real and we are losing our country to this big corporate-government alliance.  The government continues to grow in power and we have numerous intelligence agencies who not only operate above the law, they openly interfere with elections and politics.  And then these government agencies enlists corporations to do their dirty work while funneling billions and billions of into the mega corporations and allowing them to become these huge monopolies with government powers themselves.

I am not thrilled with Trump as a person and his policies are too populous, but I think he understands what he is up against now better than he did when he was president.  I am not sure he knows how to fix it, but if he can dismantle some of the key strongholds of such as the CIA, it would be a big start to getting our freedom back.

DeSantis is a much better politician and has good policies, but he doesn't understand the deep state threat  to the people or is just part of it and wants to work within it.  Better than a Democrat, but just a bandaid to the problem which needs more than a bandaid.

I think RFK jr. truly understands the problem and will try to fix it, but if he gains traction he will be assassinated like his father and uncle were.  The deep state can control Trump through legal actions, impeachment, and gridlock.  I think the deep state would really fear RFK jr. to ever gain power.

I worry he may be the only candidate capable of losing the election but I also wouldn't want a Bushtarded Romneyite. I think DeSantis is perfect, "they" will have to start smearing/demonizing him all over again from scratch..

hey, theyve been up front about this for decades.   did you ever read the plaque included on the voyager spacecraft with the statement by President Jimmy Carter?

This Voyager spacecraft was constructed by the United States of America. We are a community of 240 million human beings among the more than 4 billion who inhabit the planet Earth. We human beings are still divided into nation states, but these states are rapidly becoming a single global civilization.

i mean, Carter outright apologized to any space aliens in advance for being divided into nations instead of globalism.

I'd prefer someone other than Trump.  Always have.  Though, I do love how he pizzes off the leftists.  I wouldn't be upset if he won again for that reason.  Again, my preference is for someone else.

I want the Republican nominee to be whomever can defeat Biden/Harris and become president...

If it is Trump, so be it, but I would rather see him disappear completely...

This is correct. If it's Trump Vs Biden 2.0 in 2024, it's unlikely Trump would win the general election.

This was all a huge "set up"  It gets CNN ratings and it's an attempt to get Trump to win the primaries next year, but be in a position to lose the Presidential race. CNN filled the crowd with an audience that leaned Red. They wanted to incite minority voters and Suburban Women voters to despise the core rural white Christian America base.

Trump would rather keep running, until the day he dies apparently, over and over again, and be the center of attention, rather than see the vice grips of identity politics in this country end. He's got too much baggage and too many scandals.

This might be the first time in American political history that BOTH Parties have likely "favorites" for POTUS contention that the leadership wishes would just drop dead. I can see the DNC, Hakeem Jefferies, David Axlerod, Susan Rice and Jaime Harrison praying every night for Biden to just drop dead on stage somewhere. And I can see Ronna McDaniel, RNC HQ, Kevin McCarthy, Scalise and Elise Stefanik wish non stop that Trump would be hit by a meteor from the sky and disappear out of professional politics.

But here's the thing. No matter what the DNC and establishment Democrats do, they can't be certain of Pro Life Democrats and the White Evangelical vote holding their way like in 2020. Demonizing Christian America also smears typically liberally leaning Catholics.

It's unlikely Trump would win, but he might pull it out yet again. If he does, this country will see a no holds barred "revenge tour" unlike anything anyone has ever seen in recorded human history. This might be worse than Octavian purging the Roman Senate and it's "elite" class.

Because Trump has his negative history with women in public and DeSantis inexplicably pushed for more abortion restrictions, that opens up a door for Nikki Haley to sweep in and capture a large share of suburban women voters on her own. She simply has to platform on being "Not Biden" and refuse to engage in the "Not Trump" rhetoric.

Trump is a menace. Sure, he's a menace to the radical left and the corrupt establishment, and that speaks to many working class people. But he's also a pure menace to the actual Conservative base. He makes everything infinitely harder than it has to be to just find a way to win.

I haven't decided on whether I would vote for Trump if it came down to him and Biden yet.  I do know that I will not vote for Biden.  It's either going to be a 3rd party candidate or Trump.
