edjr 5,731 Posted June 5, 2020 35 minutes ago, Old School said: Nashville- Mayor Cooper invited everyone to join in last Saturday’s protest. Yesterday he announced Phase 3 of the cities reopening plan has been delayed/ pushed back due to a rise in covid cases. Due to an uptick in cases in Davidson County, Nashville Mayor John Cooper announced, on June 4, that Davidson County will stay in Phase 2 of the “Roadmap to Reopening Nashville.” A decision about entering Phase 3 will be made next week, said Dr. Alex Jahangir, Nashville Coronavirus Task Force Chair. “Today’s COVID-19 case count is relatively lower than the past few days, but our 14-day case average is showing a slight upward trend. Given the recent uptick in case numbers, we need more data to continue making well-informed public health decisions. We will continue Phase Two of the Roadmap for Reopening Nashville while examining our public health benchmarks every day, with a goal of starting Phase Three as soon as it’s safely possible.” Metro Public Health Department officials announced today (June 4) a total number of 5,831 confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Nashville/Davidson County, an increase of 81 in the past 24 hours. The confirmed cases range in age from 1 month to 100 years. An additional death was reported in Davidson County, a 53-year-old woman with underlying health conditions. A total of sixty-six (66) people have died after a confirmed case of COVID-19. 4,448 individuals have recovered from the virus. The Roadmap for Reopening Nashville was created in cooperation with public health officials, business leaders, and community leaders to ensure that our community takes a measured approach in safely getting Nashvillians back to work. “Our framework to restart Nashville’s economy is rooted in data, not dates, and involves four distinct phases with clear metrics for returning all of Davidson County to business as usual in stages, as well as built-in triggers to revert to earlier phases to protect public health as necessary,” states asafenashville.org. fandandy 3,312 Posted June 5, 2020 Is this moon landing? https://www.accuweather.com/en/health-wellness/coronavirus-pandemic-usa-daily-covid-19-updates-and-information-from-around-the-world/734987 Quote June 5, 12:58 p.m. New evidence indicates a relation between baldness in men and the severity of COVID-19 symptoms. Since the outbreak of the new coronavirus first began in Wuhan, China, data that has been collected indicates that men are more likely to die after becoming infected by SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. And recently, scientists have discovered a possible correlation. A study led by Professor Carlos Wambier of Brown University found that androgens, the male sex hormones, can boost the ability of the coronavirus to attack cells, making it easier for the virus to enter the body and spread. These same hormones also cause baldness. “We think androgens or male hormones are definitely the gateway for the virus to enter our cells,” Professor Wambier told The Telegraph. A pair of smaller studies conducted in Spain found that a high proportion of men with male pattern baldness were ending up in the hospital due to serious cases of COVID-19. Doctors have also raised the possibility that drugs used to treat baldness and prostate cancer, because they suppress the creation on androgens, might be useful for treating the symptoms of COVID-19. Several trials are now under way in various parts of the U.S. to test that theory. “Everybody is chasing a link between androgens … and the outcome of COVID-19,” Howard Soule, executive vice president at the Prostate Cancer Foundation in California told Science magazine. Wake up Sad We’ll see how opening up, plus the “protest” impact it’s spread. today my county allows restaurants to seat up to 50%, spaced occupancy. only one of my clients has had to close permanently ( a small Thai restaurant). Great food but he did not utilize my research and advice. seversl are close to reopening. several are still waiting (3 movie theaters), and a racetrack. i has one restaurant reopen, do “ok” then sit down for a week because a roommate of a server caught it. we are mixed about this. We want the local restaurants to survive, but also not put people at risk (staff and customers).

I am curious to see how the protests/looting impacts the numbers: Trying, but not having success posting a chart... ultimately, throughout the week we see peaks around saturdays and valleys around mondays and tuesdays. Today is not posting yet. Friday vs 5/29 is a virtual push. Daily cases have been going down a little week to week (looking at peak to peak and valley to valley). This is the first cycle matching the week prior since our decline in april/may.

Intense Observer 344 Posted June 7, 2020 Here are some charts showing the trends since we started keeping track of COVID-19. New cases New deaths New tests % new tests positive New tests vs new cases rolling 7 day average 7 day rolling average of new cases and new deaths (Unfortunately you have to use a Google login to see these graphs, they are not mine. Link to the spreadsheet with all data. Source for data) As beer stated, the peak for cases and deaths was around end of April/first of May. The decline is much slower than the rise, but it has been steady for 6 weeks. The reopening of southern states did not lead to spikes as many predicted, hopefully that holds true for the nationwide protests. At this point, new cases is essentially meaningless, we can't determine if they are a result of more spreading or just more testing.. Hospitalizations and deaths are what matters. I don't know where to find hospitalization stats. The declining death stats are very promising.

I’d say close to zero chance. These headlines are just for clicks then they will say they need 5 years of testing be for its ready. If it’s real at all which I’d say is a remote chance considering none have ever existed for this type of virus. I’m sure something will hit market but if it’s anything more effective than Emergen-C packets I’ll eat my hat.
