Used to be a Levis 501 guy.  Then they kept jacking up the price to the point that I couldn't bring myself to pay what they think they're worth.  Tried some cheap brand from Kohls and found they fit fine and cost half as much.  So now I don't really care about the brand.

I have found that when I buy a $100 pair of jeans they last 10 plus years. When I buy a pair of the Kohls jeans something goes bad before year 2 and I'm having to buy more jeans.

levis or gap. normal fit as possible,. no baggy and no queer skinny. size 32-58  usually a 33-34.....

fockin problem seems to me with all pants nowadays is you find something you like. order same exact pair, same size and they are 2 sizes different or different fit. no QC.

I don't care about brand much at all.  I care about comfort and price.  Right now I'm wearing a pair of Stanley stretch jeans I bought for $9.99.  I also have a pair of Levi jeans I bought for $14.99.

Yep.

Levi’s drives me nuts with this. The wash makes a huge difference. I’ve bought 32-32 jeans that are loose and 33-32 in the exact same cut that I can barely get on. I end up trying on 5 pairs just to buy one.

Same....think they are Rock Revivals or something. Real douchey bling on the back pockets...expensive as shiit

But they are comfortable as hell.

I've kissed a lot of jean frogs and have converged on Lucky Brand, 410 athletic slim fit.  I've lost weight (currently 5'11", 164) but have a bit of a bubble butt, and these jeans have a good amount of give for me without being stoopid baggy.  Default size is 30 32 these days but, like you said with the Levi's, it depends on the model.  I lucked into buying a pair of 31 32s online on clearance that fit like the 30 widths.

This inability to have accurate sizes is a nit for me.  I get that women have amorphous numbers for sizes, but men's slacks have a width and a length.  This should not be rocket surgery.

It pisses me off too. Especially when it’s within fit.

I settled on 514 straight fit as my cut. Not baggy, not too tapered. I’ve probably bought 5-6 pairs over the years and every one is a snowflake. Darker wash jeans are definitely tighter than a standard wash.

I rarely have to buy jeans but when I do, I seriously bring 6-7 pairs into the dressing room. It drives me nuts.

Levi’s quality has gone way downhill too but at their price point I can’t do much better. I should just go full on dad and buy Wranglers at Target I guess.

Yep. Free service why not. You seem like the type who doesn’t get his suit tailored either

Not to mention they aren't nearly as durable as they used to be.

I mean Levi's have been around since the gold rush days. Those guys would buy one pair, wear them everyday and they were hard on them. They would last a helluva lot longer than they do nowadays and we don't put near as much stress on them as they did in the 1850's.

They're still my go to, unfortunately. I haven't found anything else that I like. I'll have to look into some of the brands you guys are mentioning.

I still have two pairs of Levis, one of which I'm wearing now.  It is a 514 as well, fit is almost as good as the Lucky 410s, enough to not justify replacing them.

Have no brand loyalty.  I have some old navys and others for f-ing around in.  I have levis and nautica for a nicer pair.  Only buy levis or natutica on sale.   Im not paying more than maybe 50 bucks for a pair of jeans.

I have

one pair of BKE (buckle) "Seth" - expensive
one pair of Mavi "Matt" - expensive
one pair of Zubaz - mid priced - annnnnnd they aren't focking Zubaz colored. lol.  They are normal jeans.

3 pairs of Axel from Sams - cheap ($16), but durable as hell and fit me perfectly.   My favorite jeans.  Old Axel from 3-4 years ago were thin and made poorly.  The new ones are thick material and have nice buttons and a tiny bit of stretch.  They also sit low-mid on waist.   Folks should try these if they haven't.  These jeans make you realize how much of a markup there is on textiles.

I have a handful others from like Old Navy, etc...but I don't ever wear them.  Once you have enough "favorites" to get you through from one wash to another....the rest just sit on the shelf.

I tried Levis 505 from Sams, but ya gotta pull the waist to your belly button to get the crotch to be where its "supposed to be".   I guess in womens they call those mom jeans.  Ick.

36x32 or 36x34

Good topic.

I've worn a suit once in the last 5 years.  It was a rented suit from Men's Wearhouse for my Mom's funeral.  Didn't know she was gonna pass when I went to take care of her when she got sick.  But no, my suits are tailored.  You can't see the difference between tailored jeans and a tailored suit?

This too.  When I bought the cheap jeans the first time I figured, oh they'll fall apart twice as quick as the levis.  But nope, they've lasted just as long.  Fock levis.

I haven't wore a pair of jeans in 5+ years. Khakis, dress pants, joggers or gym shorts is all I wear.

Don't wear jeans often but, have 2 pair of Mugsy jeans. They are $100 a pair but, they feel like your wearing sweatpants. I can't wear anything else now. They're pretty incredible, 34-32.

Nope. Sure can’t. Why? Cause if they offer the service for free and the jeans you like are a little too long you can still get the cause they are free to have tailored. You buy it. You leave it. It gets tailored. You pick it up. Pretty simple concept. Don’t see why you have a stick up your ass about it :dunno:
