I will stand corrected when I see your unbiased counter links then.

Hey Buck, do you think that before someone, especially a minor, should go through some counseling before embarking on surgery or puberty blockers, to ensure they are of sound mind before making that decision?

HT's point wasn't on explicit testing per se, but rather that you can't have it both ways.  On the one hand you say that use of puberty blockers is very rare; if so there is by definition little actual data on the effects, particularly in the long term.  Now you are saying it is well tested, which implies a lot of use.  Perhaps they can extrapolate the precocious puberty data, although I don't know how common that is?

Although your links do list quite a few negative effects.  I presume that the rationale is that the good outweighs the bad?  That may be true for actual trans people; for the confused, probably not so much.

I guess I don't understand why the bolded is implied, and I think that is part of the miscommunication in this back and forth.   I take the meaning as tested as in from trials and other tests, not that it's been tested in the field on 10s of thousands of patients.  I could understand how a drug could be "tested" and found safe enough to use for a procedure when needed, but it not being needed for that many procedures.    And yes, that lack of real world testing and use should give people pause when considering that as an option and I would hope that doctors are relaying that information as well.

As to the last part, I think that yes, that is what is being implied, and when you look on some sites like the Mayo Clinic and others that was the tone - there are risks, they need to be weighed, it's not for everybody, but sometimes the risks are small enough that they feel it's warranted to go ahead with the procedure.

I posted the following article when it came out.  Might have been in a different thread cause can't find it in this one.  Doesn't matter.  I was shocked that such an even handed article came from the NY Times.  It's like they decided to actually do journalism again.  Anyways, I strongly suggest anyone truly interested in being educated on this topic read it.  Those of you with your feet planted in the ground because "your side" told you something need not do so.

To be fair, the post you quoted was explaining my understanding of HT's point, not necessarily my own.

That being said, there is validity in the fact that you can only glean so much accurate information from time extrapolations and low volumes. The reality though is that some people need to be the early adopters, and you can't wait 20 years to see what happens in 20 years, so drug companies do their best to mimic it.  You can argue if that means it is "well-tested" or not. :dunno:

I just think it's funny how the Left is ok with 5,000 kids (meaning, they don't see it as a problem because the number is so small), is on puberty blockers which is likely to be life altering and irreversible.  Yet, when 15 unarmed black guys (12 justifiably so), are killed on average, we have to completely alter our judicial system nationally.

You stated the exact yesterday and now you claim it never happens.  It is a narrative spin which was pooped out if the universities which train these 'doctors'.  It is an essential part of the whole manipulative process to sell their draconian services.

Why a small, kids size mattress in this photo shoot?  I just don’t get it.  Make it make sense.

Probably means nothing, some weird “avant-garde” artsy thing.  Just odd, that’s a kids mattress.  Like what’s the point of it?

The point of it is to make you not think anything is wrong with a grown man in a kids bed.

I was listening recently to a podcast about the DC sniper and the SCOTUS decision to remove "Life without chance of parole" for juveniles.  Lots of experts were saying how, no matter how heineous their crimes are, juveniles cant be aware of all of implications if their crimes based on lack of brain development.  Thats crazy talk I guess.

What does it have to do with Trans Kids?  KSB should have added this to the more grooming thread if he wanted to bring it up

Cultist and their obsession with "groomers" and "trans kids" is just another cultural war they're failing at.  The Failed Old Party's most pressing issues facing the country are banning abortions, screeching about non-existent "groomers" and obsessing about confused kids.

What a fail of a party.  All due to republicans embracing uneducated whites who always need some kind of boogeyman to be scared of and blame their lack of success on. Immigrants, non-whites, the elite, the educated, non-religious, etc.  Quite the transformation from the party of individual rights to the party of white, christian 1950's values.

SAD

Rick Levine said it’s glad it didn’t transition when it was younger or else it wouldn’t have been able to have kids. But it thinks it’s a good idea for other kids to do it. So does Biden.

If companies can throw their supposed behind political movements then people can choose to stop buying from them.

Capitalism is an excellent system for elevating good ideas and shutting down bad ones.

That being said I do wish more harm were being experienced by entities so supportive of China….but that does not seem to be true

Large social and moral changes don’t happen overnight.  It’s a huge cruise ship slowly turning, a little at a time, so much so people are oblivious it’s even happening. But it’s happening.

I once thought all this nonsense was just a European thing. Not anymore. And it’s funny that liberals want us to be more like Europe. No thanks.

Oddly, Europe is moving to the right on this issue and are backing away from this gender affirming quackery.  Canada is the only country that is further to the stupid on this child castration agenda than the US.
