GutterBoy 2,898 Posted October 19, 2023 2. I got the OG Pfizer in August of 2021. I already had covid at this point and wasn't planning on it, but my daughter's University was giving $1K off tuition for everyone that was vaxed, plus they waived quarantine rules in the dorms if you were vaxed, so it made sense for her to get it, and I went with her and got mine for support. I don't see myself getting a booster again, as I'm low risk and have already had it multiple times, I know it doesn't kill me or make me very sick.

crackattack 520 Posted October 19, 2023 Zero. I've had covid twice and it was like a mild cold. . Natural immunity is the better option.

My immunity is fine, I'm just a massive baby about getting sick. You add in sleep apnea to coughing fits and stuffed nose, recovering from being sick takes me about 30-50% longer just from not sleeping. So I take just about every precaution I can to better my chances of staying healthy.

I got mine pretty early on because I knew that I was going to need it to get out of the country. And I've put all kinds of things in my body that weren't good for it over the years so what the heck. Interesting thing is that it was going to be a company mandate, because we fell into the federal mandate. But, the judge overruled Biden's mandate just a month or to before the due date. So if you held out you would have never lost your job anyway. Crazy all the dumb stuff we did looking back.
Fnord 2,051 Posted October 19, 2023 Can't even remember at this point. Got the initial, then a booster, then again last week. May have been another, can't remember. At least 3. I work in hospitals and trust the advice of medical professionals that almost universally recommend it. Had covid once and it sucked balls. Not willing to do that again. listen2me 23 1,825 Posted October 19, 2023 None. Had covid twice. Was out shoveling/drinking at night during quarantine. But I'm not an old fart.
Pimpadeaux 2,404 Posted October 19, 2023 Got the first two, the first booster and then got a very mild case of COVID. Won't be getting any more jabs unless some nasty new strain comes along.
jerryskids 6,567 Posted October 19, 2023 Two. I got them as soon as I could in 2021; I was going through chemo at the time so my immune system was compromised, plus we didn't know if this Covid thing was really going to kill us all. By the time the first booster came around later that year I was done with chemo and ehh... interestingly, Mayo never asked nor did they push me to get any shots including boosters, and there were questions brewing about the efficacy and safety of the shots, so I decided to pass. Haven't had one since. I did get Covid confirmed once; had a 100 fever for a day but otherwise fine. Most importantly, I didn't have severe congestion. With my Frankenstein'd breathing pathway, bad congestion in my lungs would be no bueno. As such I still think about getting the booster (and the flu shot, which I get most years). I've had some recent heart tests and the ticker is in great shape, so I doubt I'll drop dead from the booster.

It’s very easy, even a person like you can understand it. Immune system works , but still we see people die young because of disease. Everyone has their own life span, and that’s God’s plan.
