What are your must watch fall TV shows?

Recommended Posts

I have about 5 shows that are must watch and a few DVR shows that I watch when I am bored...

SOA - Love the show and Jax is straight up gangsta this season in the last season of series this is actually pretty greta. Maybe not quite as good as the Shield but IMO the 2nd best FX series of all time!

Blacklist - So it's not "real" and couldn't really happen - Spader is GREAT in this role and IMO one of the funnest hours of TV to watch.

Originals - Prolly alone here - it's a darker version of Vampire Diaries - really liked season 1 and I hope they can get better season 2.

OUAT - Not sure about the whole "frozen" angle and last season was by far the worst season of the show. Hopefully they get back to The Evil Queen being evil again.

Revenge - I was down on this show until the end of last season where it really started getting good again.

DVR shows:

Supernatural - was once my favorite show now just a guilty pleasure when bored.

Homeland - has gone downhill fast maybe they pull it back together

Grimm - Slowly becoming un watchable but maybe they turn it around

New Shows looking forward to

Constantine - can bascially add this to my must watch list as long as it's better than the dumbassed movie 8 years ago..

Love SOA, probably one of my top 3 current shows. Also, really enjoyed the first season of The Originals. Vampire Diaries is s little cheesy and teeny bopper for me. Originals is much better.

Agree on Supernatural. Will watch the final season, even though it should have ended after season 5.

Walking Dead

I have not seen any of the shows Moz mentioned. Maybe 10-15 minutes of SOA.

Some don't watch Originals becasue it is a Vampire diaries spin off - but it really is a much better show - a good show to root for the bad guy and the guy that plays Klaus is pretty decent. Watched the first few seasons of Vamp Diaries and the parts with the "Originals" got to be the ONLY good episodes. Agree on Supernatural but I admit the last episode of last season left the door open for a potentially good final season.

SOA - IMO best written/acted non pay cable series going.

I freaking loved constantine

I was a fan of the books and the movie IMO was terrible due to Reeves in ability to act.

Walking Dead

Bates Motel

NCIS New Orleans So far so good. It's hard to capture the culture here. Bad accents and cliches in most movies/shows about New Orleans don't do it right.

I enjoyed his acting in that movie.

Damn. I must really hate TV more than I thought. I don't watch any of the shows mentioned here.

I think football and golf are the only things I watch on network TV. I used to watch SOA, but stopped this year.

Other than that, I mostly watch the quasi-reality shows. Gold Rush, Bering Sea Gold, Alaska the Final Frontier, Top Chef, and Shark Tank. I also watch Downton Abbey and The Selfridges on PBS with the wife.

Anyone watching Peaky Blinders? I started it last night mostly out of having a thing for Cillian Murphy and it looks like something I'll stick with. Unique and really engaging so far. Bad casting with Sam Neil and the actress who plays the family matriarch though.

Monday:

Tuesday: Agents of Shield

Wednesday:

Thursday:

Friday: Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Saturday:

Sunday: Once Upon a Time, Brooklyn Nine Nine, The Walking Dead, The Talking Dead

I'm being very picky as to my real time viewing as there is much TV to catch up on. A show must last beyond one season before I jump on board. They took away Psych, Revolution, Legit, East Bound and Down from my viewing habits recently.

Shows on hiatus: Game of Thrones, Orphan Black, Louie, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, Community, Inside Amy Schumer, Naked and Afraid.

Currently binge watching: Criminal Minds, almost done Season 7. Very dark police procedural, very good show.

Upcoming binges: Breaking Bad, Ray Donovan, Fargo, True Detective

It is that but can be pretty goofy too, and after a little while every plot feels the same even if the details are a lot different. Did you ever watch Cold Case, set in Philly? As someone who could tolerate CM, Cold Case was actually  You would probably love The Killing (Netflix accessible)...dark and procedural, but adds in realism, intrigue and high caliber acting.

I could see how it could be viewed as being repetitive. It's been around for 10 years now, so it's inevitable. I've been watching them back to back, and between the characters, the crimes, the locations, and at time recurring villains, it's been remarkably fresh to me, as compared to most procedurals.

Whereas I stumbled upon a Criminal Minds marathon during my last hospital stay and got hooked and swore to watch the entire run someday, I don't think I sampled more than an episode or two or Cold Case. Probably on ION network, as I was trying to go to sleep. Didn't grab me in any way. I've heard mixed reviews on The Killing, and most seem to prefer the original the series was based on. I don't know if I'll get around to checking it out. Right now we are seeing numerous quality television programs, and there are only so many hours in a week.

That's what I've heard too, the original Danish show is better and if it is better it would have to be an incredibly well done show. There are articles comparing the two (one for The Guardian by a Brit explaining why he likes the American version) but there's too many spoilers in them.

Criminal Minds is the show that I enjoy the most as of late. It really is good and I enjoy the acting. I never thought I would be able to see the guy who plays greg in dharma and greg in any other role but he really fits well here.

Peaky Blinders (BBC loosely historical gangster drama) wound up being engrossing to the point that the idea of watching something else is  Season 2 is going to be released on Netflix next month.

I love the backhanded - compliments the rest of the staff gives Mandy Patinkin on that show

Mandy is a complete focking moron. He left Criminal Minds because he "Never thought they were going to kill and rape all these women every night." WTF did he think they were going to do on a crime show called Criminal Minds, play Parcheesi every night.
