You get one day that you can pull a mulligan on in your life. Would you do it?

Recommended Posts

You can go back to any one day in your life that you wish and you could have made a different decision or taken a different path. The rest of your life would change or not change according to that decision. Do you have one? And this is about actual decisions or choices you made, not buying Apple stock or whatever that you never thought of doing.

So I loved how my life turned out to this day, so I can only pick one that is not life changing.

There was this girl that I interacted with a lot. But off and on. I liked her but I also liked her mom a lot. I was 27, the girl was 19, and her mom was 39. I made out with the mom a few times and I thought it could go somewhere. Mom wasn't interested as I didn't live close and maybe she wasn't interested for whatever reasons.

The daughter was smoking hot as well, and I never made a move for some reason. Then one day she made the move. But, I just got done making out with her mom like 10 minutes earlier and I couldn't bring myself to go for it. We made out for a bit but that was it cause I was feeling guilty. Oh I blew it...

I so wish I had that chance back.  If even only for the memories.

Wish I’d gone into a different profession. I make decent $ but I don’t find my job fulfilling at all. I’d gladly take a lower paying job doing something I love.

That’s probably my big one.

Yeah, I would have taken the Wednesday flight, rather than the Saturday morning one I chose.  I would have gotten to say goodbye to my father before he died.   The severity of his condition wasn't conveyed to me,  I was being told that he probably wouldn't even be in the hospital long.   Happened almost 13 years ago, doubt I'll ever forgive myself for not getting there in time.

I always wonder about this myself. I did a lot of things that I liked but sold out for money in another profession. I guess if I were smarter earlier on with my finances I would have been in a better position to choose. Now I'm financially well off, but I am sick of my work.

Mine is similar.  Back in my HS days (and hell, even after that) there were clearly times a girl was interested in me but I was an oblivious idiot.

I missed my mom's planned death. She was being taken off life support and brought to her home where she wanted to go. The timing was fairly quick and I chose to drive from KC to Chicago to see her. I missed her by about 30 minutes. I could have flown but wouldn't have made it in time either with all the planning and booking and such. Not sure I could have planned anything different though.

Knowing what I know now, I would mulligan the day the PowerBall jackpot was for $1 billion and bet the winning numbers.

Boy thats a good one.

I don't live with any regrets but...

When I was younger, I thought I was a pretty good baseball player, but I was a little scared of fast pitch.  I tried out and made my pony league team.  I remember getting the call offering me the spot.  I turned it down.  It  was a split second decision and I was there thinking about "big league arms"

Rotary International went on to win the pony league title.   And I always wondered if I would have turned out to be good with some coaching.

Figure out which diseased snatch gave me throat cancer 20 yrs later and just bust a nut on her face instead of caring if she came or not.

Why? So you wouldn't be living a life where you are sitting around replying to a FFToday geek forum thread that I created?

I'd go back to the day I broke my shoulder in football and would have approached the play differently.

Not hiring the guy that would eventually come back and make our life a nightmare in '86 by burning down our home, stealing my car etc. I had worked with him a bit earlier in my life so maybe it still would've happened but the thought of hiring him with a new company I was managing still gnaws at me.

Was this after you scored 4 TDs in one game?

When I was a teen in 2009 I almost bought a couple hundred dollars worth of bitcoins which would be worth millions and millions of dollars. I couldn't figure out how to setup a bitcoin wallet on the deep web so I said fock it and didn't invest until years later.

Initially, my first though would be to not have a kid at 16 (well, 15 and 10 months), but I'm fine with how things worked out.

I would've gone to the oral review (softball) for a city fire department that I'd been invited to.

Buddy of mine was taking the written test on our way to a party. It was either sit in the truck and wait for him or go in and take the test too. So I went in not expecting anything but to kill time. Lo and behold I made the cut.

Got invited to the physical agility. Made the cut.

Got an invite to the Oral Review, aka: In Person Interview. The final stage in the process.

Flaked. Just wasn't my thing.

I could be retired now with a full pension and benefits.  :wall:

I'd do that over, for sure.

While there are several things in my life that I would like to have done differently, in the end I wouldn't change a thing. Any change you made back in the day would have some sort of impact on today and could have possibly changed things. I could have never had my daughter, married my current wife, focked all of your moms, etc. I am very happy with my life and would not change it for anything in the past.
