When was the last time you spent money on yourself

Recommended Posts

Not something you needed. But you just said f'it. I want it.

What was it? How much was it? How often do you even treat on yourself in general?

All the time. When I go shopping, I buy food and drink not just for sustenance, but for enjoyment of meal times. I buy a lot of other things, but over the years, I'm guessing the food and drink consistently add up on a regular basis.

Seriously think how cheap it is to eat healthy. Simply for survival if you went into survival mode or being broke mode.

Bought a Concept2 rowing machine a few weeks ago. Going to buy a couple of bows for hunting soon.

Basically if there is something that I really want, I buy it. My hobbies are relatively cheap and I don't spend money on expensive things like cars or a huge house so it works out nicely.

Me three.  Unless it costs in the thousands of dollars, where I'll have to plan a little for it and decide if it's worth it, I just get most things I want.   Fortunately, I'm not a shopaholic.

I've owned a WaterRower for a few years now and love it. Constantly use it. Hope yours is good to you as mine has been to me.

Same here. About the only things I don’t really need hit regularly spend $ on are books and booze.

Funny, our last biggish splurge was a Concept2 rowing machine last year.  We set up a little home gym because Covid words.  For Christmas we got each other Garmin watches (VivoActive 4/4S) which connect directly to it, works really well once you figure it out.

Couple weekends ago but wanted to do Lego Technics project and after picking out a set I realized I couldn’t justify the $249 price tag and ended up with a $9.99 skid steer.

Do you collect the Technics?  If so, do you keep them in the box or put them together and display them?  I see them sometimes on Slickdeals and they look cool.  Also the architecture sets.

Went out to an early dinner Saturday for a neighbors birthday. 12 dollars for a glass of wine. A Fockin glass. I felt guilty getting it, but it was at one of those brewery places that I hate and didn’t feel like figuring  out what beer that I wouldn’t end up liking anyway was the right choice.  Those places suck.

I do/did. I have 3 expensive pieces ($250 and up ) that put together and taken apart probably 2 or 3 times each. Now they are displayed on a shelf. Have a few smaller pieces on same shelve.
Countless sets were treated as toys when the kids were young (helicopters motorcycles cars etc).

They are very detailed and fun to do as well.

Socks

I waste too much money on stupid things that I don't need.

Now, commenting on socks.

I made fun of Bombas socks a while back.  Well, more so complained.  They are basically running a communist company..(I buy socks for me and I'm forced to donate a pair to someone else).

I got 2 pairs of them for Xmas.  They kick ass over all other socks that I've ever had.  When I buy socks, I always buy about 18 pair of the same kind, and then a year or 2 later, when they are mostly shot...I buy 18 more (all of one kind).

I went to Bombas site to do just that. Until I saw the price.  Holy fock.

Best socks ever..but cost way too much.

Was thinking about splurging and getting an Underwater Drone.  $1200 for a good one....based on my limited uneducated research.  Then I realized it would probably wind up like my brothers regular drone....used twice, broken and not used in 2-3 years.

I was given polo socks last year, that’s what I buy now. 20 bucks for six.

I was just curious. The last couple weeks I spent about 2 grand on myself for my pickup truck. And even though I never spend money on myself. I kind of felt a little guilty about it for some stupid reason.

Ping G400 Max.

I had a regular Ping G, then went to a TaylorMade for a bit.... But Ping still makes the most sweet feeling/forgiving driver on the market, so I went back to one. (imo)

I have always been a Callaway player when it came to woods and decided to give TM a try this year. I am hitting them ok, but the sound difference is taking some getting used to. With Callaway you get that high pitch "ping" sound where as the TMs have a muted "whack" sound.

My irons - still gaming my Ping Zing 2s I got in 1996 with no intention of changing soon.
