There has to be SOME moderation.  However Elon has said it will transparent and mediated fairly, unlike the previous weirdo's.  Elon Musk is not some raging Conservative, he's just NOT a raging liberal.

I look at it like going from FootballGheys to this place.  There is some moderation and if you disagree with something either put them on ignore or state your case why.  People really need to learn the "ignore" function instead of the "report" aka "cancel" function.

I honestly doubt most Twitter employees care about the politics. They just need a job, so it’s better to quit and find another job than to be fired.

Even if it was only going to be 20%, if people knew it was coming they’d be looking for a new job anyway.  And even if you make the cut a lot of times you end up doing more work.

I know people who work at SpaceX.  First thing you need to know is, yes, the expectation is you work hard.  The expectation also is the workers do it for the love of engineering and technology and presumably to save the world, so I fully expect Elon isn't going to want to pay overly competitive salaries either.

I don’t think Musk is a cheapo CEO though.  I’m sure the people you know at SpaceX make good money, and I don’t see why he wouldn’t pay competitive salaries at twitter if he actually wants top talent. 
 

But I definitely wouldn’t be surprised if 20%  or so are let go.  Honestly he may have intentionally dropped the 75% number so people leave on their own and then they don’t have to pay severance.
