Tuesday started throwing up non stop.

Weds admitted to ER

feeling better now. In recovery and major pain. No bag at least. This is pain I can handle.  The pain I had weds and Thursday was the worst thing I’ve ever experienced

Yeah really scary. The good news is I do get my colonoscopies so hopefully I don't experience anything like you did.

Get well bud and we're rooting for you!

My best friend has Crohn’s.  Oddly enough, so does my wife.  My buddy, his is extreme.  About 20 years ago his large intestine was sectioned.  I know what you’re experiencing and I sympathize.

Good luck to you. Hope things get better.

You’re a 100% right on this. I got a buddy from Wales, mid 50s, refuses to have a colonscopy. Keeps insisting he doesn’t need it but I figure he just is terrified of the prep. I’ve done it 3 times now, it’s no biggie. And I keep telling him but he won’t listen. I fear that someday he will get bad news that was unnecessary…I hope not.

Thing is I had one at 40 one at 45 and had my 50 year one scheduled for August. You just never know

Glad you’re doing better my friend. I had mine done a few months ago, along with the one that they go down your throat. They found five polyps and froze them out and collected them for cancer treatment. They came out to be benign. Also to all of us over fifty, get a sonogram, MRI, and a CT Scan. Its amazing what they find. I have three growths they are very concerned about. One the size of an acorn on my front left frontal lob on my brain. One on my pancreas and one on my lower intestines. Just do it. The more you know the better. 🍻

@RaiderHaters Revenge...best wishes for a speedy recovery. Sorry that you had to go through the suffering to find the issue.

I'll echo your sentiment about colonoscopies...colon cancer is one cancer they have a pretty good idea as to how it starts and the process it takes and you can get it easily detected and eliminated. I have colon cancer in my family and have had a few colonoscopies. Prep sucks but I've had polyps removed so it has been worthwhile overall.

Has to be 6 years or more since my last one.  Probably should do it again. Surprised my primary care physician has not badgered me about it.

Usually the reminder will come from the place that does them.

Maybe these teachers should stop calling themselves doctors.

Same.  My dad died of colon cancer, so I had my first scope in my late 40s.  They removed 3 polyps that they called pre-cancerous, so I get a scope every 3 years or so.  Interestingly, I get my lower torso CT scanned at least once a year as part of my other cancer monitoring, but they still suggest I do the colonoscopy.  I guess there is nothing as good as shoving a camera up your ass to see little polyps.  :dunno:

I am not "of age" to really need one yet, but will as soon as I am able.

I am glad that you're doing okay and I hope you heal quickly. Sending you ((hugs)).

Did you notice anything that may be attributed to having colon cancer in the weeks or days before Tuesday?

Any of these symptoms:

stool (poop) that looks narrower than usual

feeling like the rectum is not completely empty after a bowel movement

bright or very dark red blood in the stool

bleeding from the rectum

gas, abdominal cramps and feeling bloated

pain or discomfort in the rectum

a lump in the abdomen or rectum

fatigue and weakness

anemia

, which can cause fatigue and shortness of breath

nausea and vomiting

loss of appetite

weight loss

Not at all. Not a single issue with my health
