It's like I've tried to explain to @weepawsregarding abortion in AZ. He supports a complete opposition to abortion, and as such, supports the 1864 AZ law completely outlawing it. I on the other hand, generally oppose it as a choice of convenience, and would like to work towards limiting that. Weepaws, and AZ MAGA folks, don't realize that by supporting the complete ban, they are enabling the constitutional change on our ballot this year which would allow abortion by choice up to birth, because that absolutely would win.
Basically, it's a question of letting the perfect be the enemy of the good.
I understand the philosophical simplicity of folks like weeps. I'm sure he feels that he'll stand in front of God and say, by golly, I opposed it! Never mind the fact that his opposition allowed many more abortions to take place. If there is a heaven with a Judeo-Christian God, I presume he'll be easy on him. He means well. But he doesn't understand how to win.
Anyway, I digress. That same attitude gave us Kari Lake, who will lose.
