NewbieJr 541 Posted July 19, 2017 I know she's still quite sharp, but the truth is, Betty White is in her 90's. It really saddens me to know she won't be around much longer. Reminds me of George Burns when I was young. Just seemed like he'd live forever. And then one day, you heard he died. Also, Jimmy Carter. Bad President, but one of the great humanitarians of our lifetime.
joneo 556 Posted July 19, 2017 Agree with White. For the male side, I would go with Eastwood.

tanatastic 2,062 Posted July 19, 2017 Huh? why would you be sad about an old person dying? THAT'S WHAT THEY DO! I feel this way. Even at 10yrs old I didn't cry when my grandma died. I was smart enough to know that it's a normal part of life and elderly people die. Celebrate someone's life rather than mourn their death. When younger people die it's tragic. wiffleball 4,788 Posted July 19, 2017 Bob Newhart. Sad just thinking about it. He did something for a roast or a tribute - can't remember - where he was just at his desk at home - and it just stole the show. Very quiet, unassuming, old fashioned, guy good. Some folks just represent the passing of an era. He will be one of them.

edjr 6,578 Posted July 19, 2017 You weren't upset at all when Carlin died? in 2017, 71 isn't old. Died suddenly, unexpected, wasn't sick. That's sad Dying of being old, not sad Eastwood is 87 and Betty White is 95 (both named in this thread) Life expectancy in the USA is

wiffleball 4,788 Posted July 19, 2017 On the fmaile side, Carol Burnett. One of the few good memories I have as a kid that involved my Mom. We'd all sit around watching her show - and laughed a lot. She's aged well and, best I can tell, has always been whip-smart, independent - without ever having an attitude.

Her show is still not in syndication and the only time you'll see it is when she's pawning off DVD's.

BunnysBastatrds 2,321 Posted July 19, 2017 Burt Reynolds. I was watching an episode of Fast And Loud where they went to his house to get an autograph on the glove compartment door for a bandit car. Couldn't believe how bad he looked.
penultimatestraw 473 Posted July 19, 2017 the thread title said older, which is one of his bits. but yeah I hear you, 80 is kind of my line. That is life expectancy if you were born today...In the 1930's (when Carlin and Eastwood were born) life expectancy was ~60. IIRC, you're 50ish, so expect to pass around age 70.
