This is certainly a start. Can you be reinfected? If not, how long does that "immunity" last? If you are reinfected, do you have symptoms? If you are reinfected, can you infect others? Hardcore troubadour 15,518 Posted May 20, 2020 So, NYC beaches are closed for the summer. But Nassau county beaches, right over the border are open. So we can dismiss the public health concerns about going to the beach then I assume? NYC says they can’t afford it. Ok. But Cuomo is letting Nassau open. Looks like you can’t contract the Chinavirus at the beach then? Good news.

Testing negative is great- short term. Doesn’t mean you won’t get infected at the grocery on your way home from testing. Antibodies test seemed the best - until they declared you could become reinfected. If you are not infectious when becoming reinfected- the antibodies test would be a good start. As long as the accuracy of the test can be trusted.
Hawkeye21 2,405 Posted May 20, 2020 Just found out today that an employee's wife tested positive for COVID now. Have another employee at home waiting to hear if his father-in-law has it before he can come back to work too. Luckily we're not as busy right now otherwise we'd be struggling to keep up. This draft is being shared for stakeholder input through Friday, May 22. Please submit your comments using this form. Thank God I can go through McDonald's drive thru I feel you. https://www.wral.com/two-longtime-raleigh-restaurants-close-doors/19106296/ Quote Raleigh, N.C. — The COVID-19 pandemic has shuttered two more Raleigh restaurants. After 35 years in business, Gateway Restaurant has closed at 2411 Crabtree Blvd., owners Martina Brooks and Tom Rohweder announced via Facebook Tuesday. The two took over the restaurant from their father, Hans Rohweder in 2000. Hans had been running it since 1985. "Gateway has truly been a family business in every sense of the word," owners wrote on Facebook. "Customers who came for their first breakfast or lunch returned again and again until they become friends and “Gateway family.” Known for comfort food in abundance it was a great place to start the day or enjoy a lunch break. For many people, Gateway has been a home away from home, 'where everybody knows your name,' a place to relax and a haven for hugs and humor." The restaurant closed its doors temporarily on March 17 when Gov. Roy Cooper issued a stay-at-home order due to COVID-19.

Their chance of dying from this is very small. Most of the people that need protection are the least productive members of our society so life goes on as normal. We don’t have to stop the world. While this disparity was previously known, statistics released as the pandemic goes on starkly illustrate its real-life effects. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) statistics show more than 80 percent of those dying of the virus are over 65 years old. The CDC on its website reports 68,998 total deaths in the U.S. as of May 16, with 55,651 of those deaths, or 80.6 percent, covering people over 65 years old. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/coronavirus-deaths-in-u-s

I read on this here website that we were at 100,000 deaths. The CDC needs to consult the experts here before they go and report inaccurate death totals. A month ago, he told medical examiners not to report covid deaths until he reviewed them. This week, he fired a data scientist who refused to doctor numbers. In March, he had thousands and thousands of spring breakers there in crowded bars and on crowded beaches. They all went home and spread it through thew communities of their home states. Hundreds probably thousands of deaths that were started in Florida but counted in other states' death tolls. Don't even bother looking at Florida's numbers. They're make believe. Georgia is a different story. I've been paying attention to Georgia because they were one of the first to reopen. The first of the states that had major infections. As much as this goes against your agenda, I've been hoping they didn't have a surge. Because I want my county to reopen and I know other states are looking very closely at Georgia. Hardcore troubadour 15,518 Posted May 21, 2020 Did you hear about the other great idea Cuomo came up with that is presently backfiring? He put in a “no evictions” executive order until August. Now people that ran out of NYC to places like the Hampton’s are refusing to leave. The owners of those rentals can’t rent out to the summer crowd now. They aren’t even paying the rent. And 25% of people in NYC didn’t pay rent in May. Way to think that one through Andy.
