For some reason I read that as "Favorite current woman athlete on a team you root for". Tyrese Maxey is NOT a woman.
BeenHereBefore 1,455 Posted November 7, 2023 Steelers RB Warren very underrated and all the fans and sports media knows he should be the starter.

thegeneral 2,896 Posted November 7, 2023 I’m rooting for the French kid on the Spurs to be the next great thing. Promising start. Root for Giannis and Lillard. Favorite athlete is usually the guy on my Fantasy squad who is going off. That would be AJ Brown. In MLB was Spencer Strider, Elly De La Cruz, and Acuna. MTSkiBum 1,620 Posted November 7, 2023 I no longer have a team I root for year in and year out I grew up a pittsburgh/penn state fan in all sports but after moving to Houston I no longer root for the Steelers. I would still get on the pirates bandwagon if they ever turned it around though. I cannot bring myself to ever be an Astros fan, however I think in a few years I may be a Texans fan. In a couple years if i answer this question it could be stroud.

Meh, does not bother me if i get called out for it. In my case it makes sense, the first pro games i went to were at 3 rivers stadium and my first college football games were happy valley, but I have never lived in PA. My family is from PA and I visited alot, but since i lived in such states as North Dakota, West Virgina, Wyoming, etc I never had a local sports team to adopt that overruled the team my family rooted for. This is the first time in my life I have lived within a 5 hour drive of a major sports team. If someone wants to rag on me, go ahead.

IGotWorms 4,057 Posted November 7, 2023 It’s slim pickens for the Patriots right now. Not only do they suck, but their QB is an unlikable sissy tw@t. I’d say Judon but he’s out for the year. Maybe Ja’Whaun Bentley? Couldn’t pick him out of a lineup to save my life though. Had to look up how to spell his name
jerryskids 6,559 Posted November 7, 2023 Of all of the AZ sports, I'll go with Devin Booker on the Suns. Dood is an alpha stud who stayed with Phoenix when he could have gone to a contender when the Suns totally sucked. When asked about it he replied, "I'm not going anywhere. They're going to come to me." And they have. We'll see if it works with KD and Beal (Beal has Sarno so may never play), but he kept to his word and stuck with the team, and attracted the talent. Having a new owner with deep pockets helped too.

jerryskids 6,559 Posted November 7, 2023 1 minute ago, MDC said: It won’t. I don't really think it will either, but I'll root and hope. To his credit, KD has been the only healthy guy of the three to start the season, and he has been putting in yeoman work. As opposed to Booker, KD is NOT an alpha -- watching his time in Phoenix, his personality is such that he is more comfortable being a (very talented) piece of a larger machine, like in GS with Curry. But if he has to keep working this hard, he'll guaranteed break down. Beal, like I said, has Sarno. Back spasms, fock that noise. Back spasms that last more than a few days are Sarno. I hope somebody gives him the book to read soon.

jerryskids 6,559 Posted November 7, 2023 6 minutes ago, avoiding injuries said: AL ROY Gunnar Henderson For the DBacks the obvious answer would be Corbin Carroll, the presumptive NL ROY. Hard working kid, not much bigger than me, soft-spoken. The team had the foresight to sign him to a long-term deal after his brief call-up last season, so he should be around for a while. It's hard not to like Ketel Marte though.

WhiteWonder 2,675 Posted November 7, 2023 Garrett Wilson .... although it's really hard not to love Quincy Williams. It was Kevin Kiermaier, so seeing him go to Toronto sucked. Still pulling for him but now it's Randy Arozarena. In a typically boring sport, I am going to gravitate toward the guys who go all out and play with a little swagger. Nic Claxton ... been fun to watch him develop. Bridges and Cam Thomas are fun to watch as well. oh, and it's still Mickelson for golf followed by Tricky Rickie. Voltaire 5,183 Posted November 8, 2023 Probably Aiden Hutchinson and Penai Sewell. I've got a new favorite athlete on a ream I root AGAINST. When Kirk Cousins got hurt I thought "That's the end of Minnesota" Now, I like Kirk, he played for Michigan State after all, but he's not who I'm going for. So I was watching Minnesota play Atlanta and wanted Atlanta to win and bury the Vikings, to get these fockers off the Lions ass for good. I gotta say though... I just love the Josh Dobbs story. Easy to like this guy.

I was trying to pick someone else to get on board with when those two were struggling so badly... first it was Cam Smith.. but meh.
