Yesterday was opening day for snapper, we caught our boat limit of 5-10 pounders , a king mackerel, and some small mahi mahi. The mahi mahi were fun, found them under a weedline and we used sabiki jigs to catch them 3-4 at a time which added to the fight.

Blah Blah Blah. How many mass shootings have been committed by guns obtained via straw purchases. Cause isn't that what this thread is about? That's the problem with trying to discuss this issue. A mass shooting gets committed. Everyone says we have to do something. But what they propose wouldn't have prevented the mass shooting that just took place. IOW, people use mass shootings as an opportunity to push an agenda, not address the issue at hand. And THAT has more to do with why nothing gets done than ANYTHING else. Americans are sick of the government running their lives, so when they propose things ostensibly designed to combat the issue but we know is bullsh*t and just pushing an agenda we push back. Rightfully so IMO.

They've been seeing this for decades and America is only getting more pro-gun. I think what might be happening is the total loss of trust in all american institutions outweighs the fear of mass shootings. People would rather be armed and protect themselves.

I really think the NFL needs to address the cap in some way. Specifically the QB impact. Two ideas... 1. Your starting QB only has a certain amount of his salary count towards the cap. And, or... 2. Players drafted by your franchise can be resigned for a lesser cap hit. Say 75% or whatever. Free agents cost full boat. I just hate seeing star QBs with sh!t teams around them because they cost so much, or taking a hometown discount like Brady, which is a competitive imbalance. I also hate when teams have to let homegrown talent walk.

I don't think Trump is any paragon of virtue by any means, but his style of dealing with women he finds attractive is (as I understand the stories) oddly not as creepy, because there doesn't seem to be any sly angle. He's either goofy or just transparent actions wise it seems. No toying. No desire for power playing (at least when it comes to women and an intimate realm), maybe sometimes just using the weight of money bluntly. And that's not noble behavior but it's not creepy. For what that's worth. I would be far more comfortable getting stuck in an elevator for 8 hours with Donald than Joe and I don't think it's out of leaning conservative. More of a visceral read. I'm probably way too old for Joe anyway though.

I'm all for personal accountability. Meaning, I'm pro-life. You want an abortion, fine, you pay for it. I'm fine with the death penalty. It's a penalty based on YOUR actions, not someone else's. I'm not for open boarders. You want to come here, fine, we allow people to come here every year and become citizens legally. Take that route, and I'll welcome you. Choose to circumvent that route, then I have no problem showing you the exit.
