Cloaca du jour 2,083 Posted July 31, 2018 That sucks...sorry Wiff. I miss mine all the time. She was my gambling buddy. I would take her to the local casino every couple weeks so we could hang out and all that after my dad died. I was the only one who would get her out of the house besides a doctor appointment. I still think about her every time I drive up that way.

Voltaire 4,593 Posted July 31, 2018 Condolences Wiff. You've told us many stories about her, although none lately that I recall, and her care has been a lot to handle and a real burden and challenge for you to deal with since your dad died. How are you feeling and dealing with it?

wiffleball 4,682 Posted August 2, 2018 And So It Begins. I've known it would. But right on cue. You know those guys who come into work at 9 a.m. and then and moan that people who leave supposedly early because they get in at 5 a.m.? That pretty much covers my Eldest brother. Did absolutely phuc all this whole time and now feels put upon that he has to do some of the easiest ship possible. Call the priest set up a mass. Done. Her friends in the parish will handle the rest. Call the funeral home, it's a cremation easiest thing possible. Done. That's it. Thing is, I could drag his ass up and down the court all day long and all the that I've done the Last 5 Years but fuk it, I truly don't care. And the people I care about? They know the real story. I remember talking to Mung about this years ago. Now she's gone, this brother has been a my whole life. He was kicked out of the house by the time I was 8 years old I think. And is just preternaturally selfish. If he wants to play the fucken martyr, let him. If he wants to think I'm the bad guy, I don't have the energy to educate him. Nor the desire. Cuz I'm never going to see him again. My mom side of the family is just littered with pricks. I think they're averaging just under three visits a piece over the past say 50 years. And so if there's a silver lining to all this? It's that a whole bunch of Pricks in my life are going to disappear for good. As far as I'm concerned, I'd much rather be here for someone when they're alive and need me. Then drag my ass begrudgingly up here when they're dead for the least amount of time and effort possible. The mass the funeral all that means nothing to me. And pretty sure it means nothing to the dead person. Learned a long time ago you go to a funeral not for the person in the Box, but for the person who loved the person in the Box. In this case, I'm not sure they ever did, and even if they did, I ain't going for them. I'd say it's even money right now whether I show up or not. At $6,000 a month plus expenses ain't much estate left. it. End of rant.
