mmmmm...beer 692 Posted November 15, 2018 Driving classic Mustang cars. I've had a 1965, 1966, and 1967 over the years. Every time I get one I realize I hate driving them. First off I'm to damned big behind the wheel. It's like steering about 5 inchest off your chest. Secondly they drive and handle lime a 1960's shitbox... loose steering, crappy suspension, disc brakes, sh!tty windshild wipers. I love the look, and culture surrounding them... hate the drive and feel. Now maybe if I bought a fully rest moded car... updated suspension, electronics, power steering, AC, etc... it would be different...but meh. Makes me sad... I wanted to buy one for the longest time and looked at many, thinking I'd find one with everything I wanted. Power steering, convertible, white, AC, etc. I had to get into the 67-68 range before I could even find any that had all that, and I hated the 68 tail lights. The few that I did find were just really uncomfortable to drive. No leg room at all, and as you said, handled like sh!t.

Reality 2,710 Posted November 15, 2018 Nah, if I don't like it, I don't like it... Fockit.. Can only think of one thing, I wish I truly enjoyed the 45 minutes I spend at a gym 4 days a week. Wine? Coffee? IPA's? Classic cars? Nah, fockit, I don't like that stuff so why would I spend time wishing I did? We have too many other options.

Wishing is probably too strong a word. But coffee is super healthy, and beer/parties are so ingrained in our culture it’s hard to avoid them.
wiffleball 4,657 Posted November 15, 2018 Golf Hockey Wine Jazz That, more or less, is actually a pretty good list. I probably switch craft beer for wine. I really don't want to know that my hops was treated humanely and raised with free range barley. And anybody who uses the term mouthfeel around me better have decent tiits and be talking about my johnson ...ville lil smoky.

jerryskids 5,257 Posted November 15, 2018 My FIL is retired from Ford so I get good pricing on vehicles in the Ford family. I've got a Lincoln MKZ sedan (2012, bought used) and was looking to upgrade. I talked to my service guy who set me up with their best salesperson, and drove a recent model, and ... not impressed. The interior hasn't materially improved, and the drive was meh. I basically went there to buy or lease a vehicle and just couldn't pull the trigger.

jerryskids 5,257 Posted November 15, 2018 I was given some johhny walker blue about a month ago and I now see that higher end really does make a difference When I was ~30 yrs old I went to a sales kickoff meeting in Monterey CA; one night we went to a fancy pool hall there and they had a completely open bar. I asked if I could have a glass of the JW Blue, the bartender said sure! It was completely lost on me but I knew it was supposed to be good so... But I like good scotch so circling back to the thread topic, On a related note, a really cute hispanic chick (guessing 34B, was 20 years ago) told me that night that my wife was a lucky woman. I don't know if that is true, but it made me feel good at the time.

naomi 347 Posted November 16, 2018 Jazz When I was young I actively disliked hearing Jazz, couldn't imagine myself ever liking it. But some of it has grown on me. The further it gets away from 'on hold' music or muzak, and gets deeper, it can be cool It's either boring and annoying, or enveloping. No middleground.
