Can you grow a legit beard?

Recommended Posts

I was late to the puberty game.  Couldn’t grow facial hair until I was in my late teens.  Coincidentally, I have not been without a full beard  in close to 17 years.

Can you grow a real beard?

I could grow one, but find facial hair to be itchy so do not sport one.

I can, but two problems.

One, my sideburns and beard has a sh!tload of white hairs in it and makes me look ancient.

For another I break out like crazy underneath.

Yes. I let it grow for an entire year without trimming it a few years back. I'd like to find out what my terminal length is one of these days.

I grew a beard out for this year's winter hiking trip. I have dark brown hair but my beard was red. I didn't mind because I'm working from home and haven't been seeing lots of friends during covid.

After the trip, I shaved it off. I do feel like it helped keep my face warm during the trip. Wife And kids say they liked it but I don't like red hair.

Had the Grizzly Adams thing going early into Covid, but lately I've been trimming it back to about .6mm.

Nope. if I let it grow too long, it looks like a picked up pubes off the floor and glued em to my face.

Yes.  Every fall I grow one and every spring I shave it off.  I keep it trimmed, no Duck Dynasty for me.

Figured as much. It's good to be out of prison, though. I will probably be sent back due to parole violation(s) before lunch.

Just for Men.  Show up at work the next day with a dark brown beard.  According to the commercials, nobody will notice.

Never gone more than a week without shaving.  I'm a clean cut guy - not a hockey player, lumberjack or scumbag.

So to the Geeks sporting beards... what's the reasoning?

1. Too lazy to shave

2. Covering up former acne craters

3. Insecure in manhood and over-compensating

4. You actually believe you look better

:dunno:

I always sport the goatee. But when I get a little lazy, I'll sport the face beard.

I'll always shave the neck. As after a couple of days, I'm neck itchy as as hell.

I like the way it looks.  I'm a low maintenance guy.  I think shaving sucks.  Not insecure at all.

I have a trimmed beard.  It's not like a full, messy beard that covers my neck.

1.  Easier to shave than maintain a beard. Idiot.

2.  Fortunately, no craters

3.  No, beard does not equate manhood.

4.  Yes and wife agrees

I've had goatee (or van dyke whatever) for several years.  I decided to grow it out for sh1ts and grins for several months just to see how long I could get it.  Ended up going back to trimmed, though, as I started to look like a homeless dude.

I don't bother with a full beard as it doesn't fill in all the way on my cheeks.

Nope. Actually can't grow any facial hair really. I'm assuming it's the Indian heritage in my blood, idk.

I can.  But I keep it trimmed.  Started it during the stay at home time over last year.   Now I decided to goatee it.  I have never tried to grow one like on the Boston Red Sox

A full, thick beard?  No.

I can grow one, but it's just not full enough to look decent so I don't.  I have a couple times and just shaved it off eventually, the wife doesn't care for it either.
