MTSkiBum 1,623 Posted April 13, 2020 With this plant shutdown the US loses 5% of its pork capacity. I do not think we will run out of food, but I think we are going to run out of different types of food. Hopefully they can bring it back online quickly. I would be in favor of Trump using the national guard to help these facilities out. Let the employees recover and have a bunch of 18-20 year old kids work and process the pork. https://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/meat-industry-warns-shortages-plants-close-coronavirus

That doesn't explain the prices for milk in grocery stores to be high and there to be a limit on how much can be purchased. We have a surplus of milk and it should be available to everyone for an affordable price right now. Dumping it out just doesn't make sense to me.

I'd have to research some but my guess is that there are folks at MIT who aren't thrilled with this guy. He is a bit tinfoil hat for me but he makes a few great points: - Medical doctors do NOT understand systems or a systems approach to problem solving. They follow the fishbone until it points to a drug. The medical profession sorely needs engineers or people with that mindset. - On a related note, medical doctors do not study immunology nor do they understand the complex system of microbes that interact to control the body. - This quarantine is preventing us from developing a herd immunity. I absolutely agree with his point that we should be boosting our immune systems instead of suppressing them in quarantine. Keep the elderly and immuno-compromised isolated, and the rest of us can move on with life and the economy.

Intense Observer 344 Posted April 13, 2020 I honestly don't know how anyone can defend these reporters. 100% of their questions are gotcha attempts and talking point fishing. Not a single one of them is asking questions with the best interest of Americans in mind. Can any of our communist posters explain? For example, earlier when Dr Fauci said Trump followed his recommendation, the first time he recommended mitigation Trump said let's do it. They had a conniption fit. Just before that Fauci got up there and said “As soon as we (Brix and Taskforce) recommended shutting down the economy, which is unprecedented, he did it.
