Ignore that retard. I do. Cause they’ve literally posted multiple videos of different liberals saying “it’s the woman’s choice if she wants to abort after birth”. Numb nuts over there has a smooth brain so he can’t grasp anything. He’s ignorant and a retard as his posts prove

His ignorance fuels his anger. And he’s very angry.

Not that it will stop some thug in Baltimore from having guns and shooting people.

But I too am perfectly fine with many of the gun buying laws that are mentioned in this thread.

Wow imagine that.  Group of crazy righty gun wielding hillbillies says "yeah sure I am fine with this".  You wouldn't believe it if you just took the bored liberals word for it.  Or super moderate rusty.

every one of those is in place in Chicago, still the highest gun deaths in the nation

also I am not sure of anywhere where those laws aren't in place. Seriously?

I am also fine with them all

I don't believe all those laws are in place in Chicago. But even if they are---they aren't in Wisconsin, Indiana and the rest of Illinois and statistics have shown many(most?) of the guns used in crimes in Chicago were purchased elsewhere. So it doesn't matter if Chicago has tough laws, but 30 minutes away, you can get a gun in Gary Indiana without a problem.  If there aren't min standards nation wide, you will always see people getting guns where it is easier and bringing them to places where it's more difficult to get them(and most likely sell them very profitably).

And just like a good liberal there goes Beto O’Rourke grandstanding at Abbott’s press conference. If they aren’t capitalizing on tragedy with a power-play they are doing it for political hey look at me points. So gross

But we have open borders, bad people will always have/get guns.

all the things concerning backgrounds checks, age requirements,  etc in this thread is fine with me. but if you want to talk about taking existing legal guns from good people. ... you can fock right off. they can start by fighting real crime in the inner cities and closing the focking border first.

yep. Border first. Absolutely no one in. Second, get rid of illegals. Third, tell the police they have full support of apprehending criminals. Fourth, Fire every liberal D.A. in the country and hire conservatives to put criminals in prison or put to death.

uh oh.  When I brought up toxic masculinity here all the toxic men called me a liberal puzzy....

But, thanks for posting this, it's 100% true and a real problem.  Prior to covid, I volunteered for many years trying to reach young men and better equip them for life.

There are things that can be done, that are supported by almost the entire population of America.

Americans support:

93% - universal background checks
89% - prevent mentally ill from buying guns
88% - prevent convicted violent criminals from buying guns
82% - prevent people on the no-fly list from buying guns
77% - background checks at gun shows and for private sales
72% - mandatory waiting period for buying guns

Why are we letting our politicians get away with not passing laws that the vast majority of Americans want? Both parties should support at least the items in the list above.

Not just americans, but surprisingly similar numbers on most of those issues when NRA members are specifically pulled. Most the NRA is up for all the above. But their leadership just won't budge. And they're the ones who make millions of campaigns contributions.

The NRA is basically just another political group.  I'm all for protecting our right to own guns but I don't care for the NRA at all.

You need to have someone on the extreme pro 2nd else the liberals will take that over. Because God knows the left are whack job liberals. See the NRA as a balancing entity.

I'm not so sure this generation of young adults want to get married with the divorce rate the way it is.  Maybe they're tired of seeing so many other people unhappy?  :dunno:

Anxiety issues maybe?  Parents being too lenient?

I have a friend who still lives with his parents and he's almost 40.  He's never moved out.

Ouch. Are we becoming a Korean culture? I would never have wanted to do that. I was out at 17. And I loved my parents.

But wait, 40???

I never really understood why he never got his own place but he's a bit of a strange fellow.  He's been there so long that it just makes sense to stay there now.  His parents are retired and his dad is in pretty poor health so he helps take care of him.  Eventually it will just be his house.

But but what about world war ii? Well, they generally weren't shot to death in the third grade....

My girlfriend's dad lived with his mother his whole life. Or at some point vice versa I guess. He's in his 60s. His dad was killed when he was a kid. But lived his whole life with his mom until she died a few years back.

Korean family. It's more of a common thing.

One of my sisters was all in on her kids staying at home forever. She pushed for it.  Broke up her marriage in the end. My brother in law was like, no chance. You kids are up in your upper 20's lower 30's and have good jobs and living at home to save money at my expense? Not the sole reason they split, but I understand his point of view over my sister's take on it.

Sadly, I had to educate myself on this subject when our 23 yr old nephew committed suicide.    Found out that particularly for males - the ages 18-24 are when Schizophrenia and other mental disorders come to the forefront and is the most common time in a youth's life when they commit acts of violence.     18-24 yr old males, especially in 21st century USA, are a very dangerous group to others and to themselves.

We have to raise the age for when someone can purchase a gun.    The loser from TX bought his guns just a couple of days after his 18th birthday.

I agree with you. Sadly, it’s highly unlikely that will happen. Appeals courts recently blocked laws that banned sales of guns to 18-year-olds.

https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/05/25/us/shooting-robb-elementary-uvalde/appeals-courts-have-rejected-bans-of-gun-sales-to-those-under-21?smid=url-share

A divided three-judge panel of the court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, in San Francisco, ruled that the Second Amendment did not permit the age limit and that 18-year-olds have a constitutional right to buy such weapons.

Saul Cornell, a historian at Fordham University, said both majority opinions had overlooked important historical evidence.

“Anyone who knows anything about founding-era law and looked at the standard treatises would understand that there was no category of young adult under Anglo-American law,” he said, summarizing an essay he published last year in The Yale Law & Policy Review. “Anyone under 21 was an ‘infant.’ Minors were legally disabled in the eyes of the law.”

I assume the Supreme Court in its current incarnation would also block any law raising the age limit on guns. It’s unfortunate, because, like you said, that 18-24 age range is when many previously undetected mental ailments first emerge…
