Panzhihua hasn't had any new cases in over a week, closer to ten days now. So getting out of that fourteen day window will be nice if we get there. Hopefully. Really, even those last few cases from 10 days ago and earlier were all from people who had already in quarantine. Like I've been saying, all but one case here ties into one family and their friends. We've gone to really extreme measures here to keep it contained. I've seen it firsthand even though we're far removed from Hubei, we've stepped up locally big time. Hubei was a fockup, and that's on the officials there, but since Jan 22nd, the rest of China has really stepped forward to shut things down. After Hubei, other communities have had problems, but not us, not too bad. Fifteen cases. I know it's China and the Chinese government are known liars and cover up artists but I'm really sensing that these local numbers outside of Hubei are accurate. Beijing is up everybody's ass on this and it'd take balls of steel to send them fake reports. Meanwhile, no whistleblowers are coming forward challenging the official numbers. The surest way to get your boss fired and earn a favorable reaction from the boss's boss is to have three coronavirus patients in your ward and see the official numbers are made up. Panzhihua is in southern Sichuan right on the border with Yunnan and their numbers are even better. Yunnan only has three active cases down from 174 with two deaths. I think if it comes to Panzhihua again, it'll come from outside. My BiL had come here for the holiday and been stuck here by the virus until four days ago when inter-city travel restrictions were lifted and he returned to Chengdu. I worry it'd be somebody with a a fake negative from a 'safe' city that comes here and screws us up again. No comment on Hubei and whatever is going on there.
